I thought I understood, but now I'm having doubts

We are new owners - bought in January with December use year at SSR. When we bought we were given 170 points from 2006 I think, then got 170 points for 2007. I now have trip planned for New Year's, using 167 points, which leaves a balance of 173 points. I am starting to plan the next trip, for next summer, but can't figure out how many points I will have available, and if I need to bank anything. Will I get another 170 points in December 2007, which would then make a balance of 343? Or did I already get this December's points? And since I banked everything I had before making the ressie for New Year's, will I lose any points by not using them before December, or do I have until next December (2008)? I am sooooooooo confused!!!

You get your points in December, so you got your '06 points and banked them....and then you used 167 points for your vacation for New Years. '08. It may be good to ask if MS did use your banked points for that vacation, but lots of times they will automatically use banked points first. There are still 3 points from '06 and if you don't use them before Nov. 30th '07, you will lose them.

Now for your '07 points, those would be the ones you would be using in the Summer of '08, unless you wanted to add to the 170 and borrow from your '08 points which normally would come to you in December '08. If your Summer '08 vacation uses less than 170 points, you can bank some of them into '08 as long as you are within banking deadlines.

We have a March UY, so the points I'm usually using are from the same calendar year...your UY points have the previous years designation.

Without banking or borrowing:
December '06 points can be used from Dec. '06 to Nov. 30, '07
December '07 points can be used from Dec. '07 to Nov. 30, '08
December '08 points can be used from Dec. '08 to Nov. 30, '09
...

PS. Now if you got developer points, or additional points as a bonus, I really do not know anything about them. I'm sure an SSR point savy person will help you out there.

With a Dec UY the points you got for 2006 are good for reservations Dec 2006- end of Nov 2007. The next set is from Dec 1 2007 and are good until end of Nov 2008. Your reservation for New Year's this year will use the 2006 points and part of your 2007 points. Your balance is 173 and your banked points were used for the reservation or should have been. You will get the 173 points Dec 2007 and then another 170 in Dec 2008. You can borrow 2008 points for reservations that fall between Dec 2007 and Dec 2008 if you need more than the 173 for a reservation between now and Dec 2008. Hope I didn't confuse you even more.
