SO many times I post questions and I will get 100 readers and 0 responds. Than a new post comes with the same questions and that posts gets responses. SO I tried something different I went on the disney chat last night Posted questions and the people just kept talking back and forth about drinks and rides. SO I added my comments and would get a few back and still no answers to the questions I posted.
Mayble I'm just having an Eeyore morning.
Do you ever feel like this? OH NO I didn it again I posted a ? in my post and now I will start the curse of a flood of readers and no responders :rotfl:
Have a disney day!
:sunny: :earsgirl: :earsboy:  :jumping1:

Nope, you are not alone. It isn't 'this' board, it can be like that on any board. LOL! I feel like the kid in school at times with the hand raised saying 'pick me, pick me!!' hee hee

I have had some really nice people respond to some of my posts - and even offered me to PM them for help. I have gladly taken them up on that a few times for help.

I stand by my thought that we need a mentor program on here ::yes::

I have never been to WDW - But I will pretend I can help you and try to answer your questions. hee hee!!

That was real sweet of you. We are leaving on the 29th and cant wait for the Halloween Party
Have a disney day:earsgirl: :earsboy:

We won't be there too long after you! I can't wait!!

Have a Disney Day :wave2:

Beebumble...

I agree, it's not just this board, it happens to me on others all the time...to where I felt just like you did.

Sometimes it's the way you phrase your question...maybe people aren't sure what you're asking... Can't comment on your posts, as I don't recall seeing them...anything I can maybe help with?

And....we're leaving on the 29th to go to WDW, too! Looking forward to it! Going to MNSSHP on the 29th. yay!

Yes, I've noticed this too and I've been on these boards a long time. Some questions will have dozens of answers and others (like mine) get many "reads" and only one or two responses. I try to be very careful about my subject line and the way I phrase my questions, but most of the time my threads disappear. Oh well, I've still learned alot and saved money.

I try to share my experiences when I can and hope they are helpful!

People here on the DIS are very helpful. Maker sure that your subject title is very clear. You will also get more responses if you only ask one question in your note. Sometimes people want very long and involved answers so people aren't likely to respond.

Sometimes posts are written that there is no need to respond. If you post your opinion on your trip others may read and not respond.

It can also depend when you are posting. If you post during the day you probably won't get as many responses since people aren't all on the boards during the day.

I think you will find if you hang around that this is the best place to get information on WDW.

There is a trip planning chat today at 2pm eastern time. Though many of the chatters are from the UK we still share lots of info about tickets, resorts, etc. Sometimes the chats do get off topic and people chat about whatever but usually if you ask one of the hosts a qyestion they will answer it.
Sorry your feeling ignored, its not a nice feeling.

I would avoid subject lines like "Yes or No???". It would be better as "Dollar Coupons", then it would catch the eye of anyone knowing about Dollar coupons.

I agree that a descriptive subject line is a big help. When I answer questions, I don't look at who is posting them, but rather at subject lines that indicate something I know a lot about. For example, I know a lot about ATA, Happy Limo, and the MCO on-site car rentals agencies, so when those things are mentioned in a title, I will usually take a look at the post to see if I can help. I might or might not look at something with a more generic title, depending on whether I have time.
Don't get discouraged from posting here...it's a great place!

Try not to take anything personal on the boards. Folks who read and don't post are just adding your comment and knowledge to their mental database. I would rather say nothing unless I have something helpful to say.

I never post info, unless I'm 100% sure it's accurate....since hubby is a CM, I have to be careful what I post, because some info I read is proprietory.

There's alot of great info on the boards and when you have a question or something to add, please don't hesitate. There are no dumb questions, it's just sometimes they have been asked and searching for the answer from previous threads is not always easy.

Happens to me all the time!!! But, I stopped taking it to heart. In fact, now if I see a thread with lots of 'reads' and no postings, I try to give some kind of answer. There have been times that someone will actually correct or add to what I've said. Don't have any problems with that at all. I'm just glad people are getting their questions answered. Hang in there. Most of the folks on these boards are pretty terrific.

I know what you mean!! After a few times, you start to get a complex. You wonder if there is a secret DIS club that secretly talks about you....LOL!!!!!

Just don't read the thread on DIS'ers being blocked from your threads...then you'll really go crazy.

Have a great day!

I know how you feel. I also seem to be a thread killer, i.e. my response is always the last one. I kill it:rolleyes: Watch, I'll be the last one to post on this. :hyper: :hyper:

Things like this happen to all of us, it's odd. I often go around looking for questions like that to see if I can be of any help. Sometimes even if I can't I have to post something!

Saturday night chats are "party" chats, with lots of silliness. Posters are very friendly and everyone is welcome, but it's rather like being at a busy party with lots of different silly conversations going on at once. You can certainly ask and get answers to your Disney trip planning questions then, but you're better off sticking to quick/short questions during such chaotic chats. We have short attention spans on Saturdays!

The others have given good advice- you'll get the best responses to trip planning posts if you put a single question in a post AND make sure the title is descriptive AND put the post in the proper forum.

For instance, a post titled "Trying to decide between Pop Century and All Stars", posted on the Resorts Forum, that describes your group and why you're having trouble deciding would probably get a lot more responses than one titled "Confused" posted on the Community Board that simply says "Tell me where I should stay."

Also, a long and rambling post with many questions takes a lot of time and effort to read and respond to. (Not saying that describes your post, just that the short and to the point posts seem to get better responses.)

Here's a list of the scheduled chats. You might want to try visiting a Trip Planning chat for trip planning advice in a quieter setting:

riduvall! LOL! I am the official thread killer on these boards! I try not to take it personally, but I can't believe how many threads I've murdered.

To the original poster - keep chatting. Your input is important to all of us. And you will get your questions answered eventually.

I couldn't let you be a thread killer Harambe!

The Sat night chat is a hard chat for a newbie. There are many folks who chat week after week and have often met at DIS meets.

Try one of the weekly chats for trip planning questions. Usually a much smaller crowd and lots of opportunities for questions.
