Had to go to the hospital and see my surgeon this week , had loads of X-rays of the broken leg and even my other leg this time. He said everything is looking good , with lots of new bone grown and 2 of the breaks are fully healed. The injured leg compared well to my good leg so the reconstruction was very successful.

He wouldn't say for certain but said its looking very good for having the external frame removed before we go away. I do need a further operation on my knee but he's said that can wait

Starting to let my self feel excited about going now , we have a long trip to hopefully get lots done as well as lots of rest. I still haven't dared to commit to book any thing but having a good look now and working out some itinerarys, unfortunately the cruise we had been hoping to book before I had the accident is no longer available.

Just need to work extra hard in physio now and build up my strength and walk unaided.

Glad to hear things are looking up, and your leg seems to be mending well. Fingers are still crossed for you! :thumbsup2

Soo happy for you! Keep up the good work and it'll all be worth it :)

That is such good news! You've had such a positive attitude ever since you had your accident and I'm sure that must have helped enormously.

Great news. Insurance wise shop around. I managed to top up our bank account worldwide annual policy for 70 pounds last year. Given our trip was 5 months after I had major surgery (airway reconstruction) and had had 4 general anaesthetics in 2015 alone I thought it was a great price.

Good luck. I think if you search on here some threads will come up for specialist insurance recommendations. I know having the holiday to look forward to kept me going last year.

I know its got me through all the physio !!:crutches::crutches:

Just had some magic dust been on the phone Thomas Cook customer services discussing options of delaying it or what we can do to make it easier and she has booked us on some leg space seats free of charge so just landed £440 of seats .

She has booked the seats on but is going to call again after my next surgeon/xray on 30th June and confirm if i want to travel , otherwise i can change the whole dates with no admin fee.pixiedust:
