I think we have officially lost our minds....aka Gracie's Tale

:sad2:

My poor baby, she's all drugged up. No, she didn't get 3 tooth extractions, she got 8 tooth extractions and she was already missing teeth. :sad1: They said that for a 5 year old dog that her mouth was one of the worst that they had ever seen. :sad2:

:mic: I am gonna whup somebody's ***! With this information, I know have the smoking gun to report the breeder with. I hope that there is justice for Gracie and the other dogs. She really shouldn't have more dogs than she has money to adequately care for them.

At least I know that one baby isn't suffering anymore. For now, that's enough, but this is not the end by any means. ::yes::

8!! Poor little teeny!
I have had to have 1 on our old chihuahua , I hate to imagine 8!
I hope she feels better after all of this.

Corey thought that Gracie would do better if we put her downstairs with the other dogs last night, but Gracie protested for about an hour or so. She just sat there in the crate and barked. Finally, she settled down and went to sleep.

This morning, she was moving real slow. You could tell that her mouth hurt. She won't eat, but I did manage to get the pain pill down and she had her antibiotic. For now, she is my buddy on the couch, like when she first came home. She is licking her feet right now. I think the pain pill is starting to kick in. I think that she will be napping very soon. She has that look.

Lindy, does she have any teeth left? Poor thing! :sad2:
I hope you do sock it to the breeder, because it was WRONG to let Gracie suffer like that. And then to CHARGE you for her was beyond wrong! You did her a favor by taking the dog off of her hands!

I hope she recovers quickly and has her appetite back soon!

We saw a cat at the shelter where we adopted Aurora who had NO teeth at all. She had some sort of mouth infection and they took out every one of her teeth. They said she did just fine eating canned food, so I guess they learn to adapt. :confused3

I checked on the breeder's website. She found a home in TX for Laddy. I feel sorry for the new owner getting that little dog off the plane with the same issues Gracie had with the eye and tooth infections. :scared:

The breeder is dumping more of her older dogs and some pups. Obviously, her hubby must still be laid off for her to be continuing to dump the dogs like this. I know who to contact. I have Gracie's medical records. I am making a full report later this week. ::yes::

Oh, and Gracie isn't eating much, but she is eating and drinking a little. She's been stoned most of the day. She's stayed very close to me all day. Did I mention that I am totally in love with this little one?

I'm sorry, but it chaps my tushy that I watched 2 perfectly healthy chihuahuas being euthanized on the news and this whack job breeder is importing her dogs to my state. That really makes me very angry! :furious:

Gracie is eating dry food again! :cool1:

I was all set to keep her on wet food for another 3 to 5 days, but after the morning walk, she went straight for the dry food pan. I didn't give her a pain pill this morning because she seemed so happy. I am going to give her one tonight though because I know that if you are going to hurt, it's usually at night.

Gracie is such a tough little girl. I am so happy that she is recovering so quickly!
