So far this trip, I haven't seen a single dirty bathroom. What prompted me to post is I have seen the custodial cast members in the bathrooms so often, I started to think it was a NYC night club and I should tip them. I actually saw an under 20 second response from a paper missing the waste basket to being picked up and that's the dirtiest I found it.

Hopefully this trend stays but interesting how fast it gets fixed when Pete reminds everyone about the new WDW_Today twitter to start an "enough already" picture posting campaign.

PS - It's also very surreal to watch Dis Unplugged while here and even more surreal when "the trip" is live youtube alert pops up while trying to take a selfie on main street.

I must have always went to a restroom when they were clean. I've never had this problem pete and the others speak of.
The bathrooms have always been generally clean.

I was there in May and the bathrooms were clean and tidy in all parks, I must have got lucky

I can only imagine how cool it must be to watch the podcasts/get alerts while you're there. I'll have to check the feeling out for myself - ASAP! :) :) Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

Well good. I have had the experience of walking into a really dirty bathroom at WDW. It's not fun.

on the podcasts it was mentionedbefore about bad washrooms so when we went to WDW @ july 4th for 2 weeks i made sure to keep an eye out and my wife and i did not see a dirty one at all.

I've been a lot to Disney and I always seem to run into a CM cleaning the bathroom . I haven't noticed dirty bathrooms. I find them to be clean. I really like the new one in MK that opened couple years ago.

I've only experienced the same. And there have always been Cast Members actively cleaning when I've been in there so I've always thought that was the norm.

I think instead of ranting on Disney someone should rant on the guests that cannot clean up after themselves. My daughter used to be a custodian and always mentioned how messy the ladies' rooms would get in-between her cleanings. Really disgusting stuff. The custodians rotate through their various areas. So if the bathroom is clean one moment it can get messed until that custodian comes back around, especially when the parks are crowded.

We were there at the end of July and in to the start of August. The bathrooms were awful, but we did see custodial staff attempting to clean them. Honestly with the crowds, it was hard for them to keep up and it was quite a soggy trip so everything was a mess. I do think WDW needs to put forth more effort, but at the same time I feel for the staff. They are attempting to keep up with guests who aren't conscious of cleaning up after themselves either. There is a certain amount of this filth the falls on badly behaving guests. I get that we all spend a pretty penny on admission, but that doesn't give anyone the license to throw their TP, kleenex, garbage, etc. everywhere (and they do). I saw filthy queues too. People just stashing their garbage in every corner instead of waiting to get to the front where inevitably there would be a trash can.

Perhaps they should hire more custodial for the busier periods in order to be able to keep up. I am not saying that custodial is not doing their job they are. I think WDW has spread them too thin.

I really never noticed all the problems that are often spoken about with the bathrooms. I don't know if I'm just less observant or my standards are lower or I'm really lucky but I have never once thought a bathroom was dirty or disgusting. I really don't expect them to be any cleaner then what I'd see at the mall or at a baseball game.

I've always been astounded at how filthy the ladies rooms are in public bathrooms.
I work for a fashion company, so the employee list is about 80% female and the state the bathrooms get in sometimes makes me sick.
I've taken on the mindset that everyone thinks men are filthy but if a man saw the state of the ladies rooms, it could be enough to swear them off women. So gross!

I believe that just because someone is hired/paid to clean for a living, it does not negate the fact you can still act like a human being raised with some manners and concern for others, instead of an entitled disgusting "clean up after me like I own you" person. I've actually commented to other females I've seen leave their area where they've been in restrooms a horrible mess, and excuse their own behavior by saying "oh - whoever the cleaning person is will clean up after me". Yes - there are people PAID to do that, and yes, Disney (and anywhere else) should hire enough staff to try and keep up with needs. But - that does not give anyone the right to make the "cleaning people's" jobs harder, or give them more work to do, or act like they "deserve" to be lazy, spoiled, and make a mess "just bceause". Geeze - what an attitude! I always say "just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD.".

So glad people mentioned the personal responsibility we all should have in public places. I agree that WDW should go its share of cleaning but if only we could get the word out to the idiots how show no common courtesy in public. This might turn into a debate but if you see a cast member or employee stationed in a public restroom to keep it orderly and clean, it doesn't hurt to tip them. We just went to the State fair and found things in great shape and too many people just passed by the attendant and didn't tip. I, for one, am happy to hand over a tip if things are clean and moving along in there.

I have to admit, I've never noticed the WDW bathrooms being all that bad, but after listening to the group discussion I will definitely be more aware of it when my trip comes up in a couple of weeks. I wonder if anyone took Pete up on his suggestion to tweet out pictures to the WDW twitter account...

I absolutely agree that the public need to stop being such pigs, because at the end of the day, that's the only way the bathrooms get messy.

However, there is obviously too many pigs out there so disney should make sure the areas are clean.

Does that make sense?

The bathrooms shouldnt me a mess, but the fact is, they are, so unfortunately, the easiest way around this is for disney to ensure they're clean, regardless of the pigs.

The other thing is, no one thinks that THEY are the problem.
For example, our bathrooms at work constantly have one -3 stalls that are beyond belief, but, when you talk to people about it, everyone denies that it's them and is disgusted that someone would leave them like that.
Well, it has to be someone!! But no one thinks (or wants to admit) that it's them. So how to you combat those in denial?
Have someone in the bathrooms who names and shames those who leave a mess?
