I think this is good...

When I got back from 10 days in Switzerland, my mom immediately said "You've lost weight!"

So I checked, and sure enough, I lost almost *10 pounds*.

Normally they say losing that much in that little time isn't good, but I felt *great* when I got back, and I was doing a LOT of walking (like, almost all day walking), a good deal of stair climbing or hill climbing, and did 2 days of walking, climbing, and hiking with a backpack that probably weighed about 20 pounds on my back.

And I wasn't skipping meals, either. Nor were my meals really non-fat: ham sandwiches frequently for lunch, similar stuff and eggs for breakfast, spaghetti or wienerschnitzel for dinner... But, guess what was missing: preservatives that we use in a lot of our food here in the states. Everything was fresher. And, I was drinking a little more water, and the water had some minerals, if that means anything.

Whatever the case, I'm in better shape now than I was when I left and I feel a lot better, though I'm already feeling trapped without being able to do my nightly walk by the lake (not possible here in Houston. Ugh. :( ) and all the walking during the day. I feel myself slipping back into lethargy working behind a computer all day. :(

I'm no good when it comes to working out, I've tried, but one of the ladies here at work just invited me to a Jazzercise group that meets at her church 3 times a week, so I'm going to give that a try next week. :)

Wish me luck! I'd love to maintain the shape I got in Switzerland!

A trip like that is a great way to lose! :) I went to New Zealand with my husband and ate a lot, but it was good food and we walked A LOT - and I ended up down a pound or two even though I ate anything I liked! Good for you!

Well done ~ Keep up the good work.

Jazzercise sounds like fun!!!

Good for you, Tammi!! Your trip sounds fabulous!!

I just got back from 2 weeks in Disney World. I was feeling great while there, but when I returned, I could feel the old depression slipping back in. I finally realized what it was!

At Disney, I woke up with a happy heart and a clear mind, expecting a wonderful day. At home, I woke up with a heavy heart, a stressed out stomach and a mind that was endlessly going over all my "shoulds" - you know, that internal to-do list that I'll never finish!

PM me if you find you have the same problem and want to chat about it. Maybe we can help each other wake up without that burden of our "shoulds" list!
