Thsi is my first post on the wedding board- since I jsut got engaged Saturday night!! I am soo excited to be getting married, but I think my ring is too big :scared1: . I got my finger measured before and they told me a 3 3/4 (yeah, it's small), but it is rolling around so much on my finger I am afraid it is going to roll right off! The ring is a Tacori with engraving all the way around teh band, so it apparently cannot be made smaller- only bigger- of course! It is literally makign me sick thinking of how much he spent and how scared I am to wear it. It is sooooo pretty- if it was just a LITTLE bit smaller I would never want to take it off!! I have read about people getting small little balls put into their rings to basically make them grip better. Do you think that is an option for me? I am hoping that over the years my fingers will grow some, but that may be wishful thinking- plus, what should I do now?

Sorry this is so long, but I knew I could turn to the Dis for help. I am literally making myself sick over this and I want to cry just typing this :sad1:

congratulations on your engagement!

my wedding band couldn't be resized in the store, so they sent it to the company to make me a new one. i bet yours CAN be re-sized, they just need to send it somewhere to do it...

Sorry that I can't offer you any advice on your ring, but I am sure that some of the wonderful girls here know something that will help you out...
But I did want to say, CONGRATS!!!!!!:thumbsup2

I've always been able to move my e-ring easily on my finger(been on for 14+ yrs). I couldn't stand it tight(had to take it off during the late stages of my pregnancies though)

Does it easily go over your knuckle? If it does then you might have a problem.

Oh Congrats!!!

There has to be another option for your ring. A friend of mine got something inserted inside the ring so it could fit her better...I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it, but it's basically a piece of bendable metal inside the ring to make it fit. I'll try and find out for you.

p.s. can we see your ring, please???!!!!:cheer2:

Congrats!

Worse comes to worse, get a simple ring to wear outside your e-ring to hold it in place.

But, yeah, definitely ask around to find out if there is a jeweler who can resize it for you!

I've worked in a couple jewerly stores, so I can offer a little advice. No, they can't resize the ring you have, but yes, they can have Tacori make a new one smaller. Most stores will do this if you insist it's just too big and they took your measurement. Does it just roll where the diamond moves from side to side or does it slip down towards your knuckle? If it's the first, it's not too big, the second it is too big. You can get sizing beads put in - they're not always comfortable to some people, but better than losing a ring! Most people only do that if they already have a ring that can't be resized (ie one they inherited, etc) or if their knuckle is too big to make the ring smaller, but it's too loose after it's over the knuckle. Also, keep in mind that when y ou get your wedding band that the set will fit a little tighter than the single ring. See if they have a plain band in your size you can try on with your ring (make sure it's close to the width you'd want) so you can see how the two feel together. My e ring was never tight alone, but the set sometimes is now that we're married. Bottom line - I'd go back and talk to them and make sure they know you're not happy with the fit and let them know your preference.

Ditto what Disney Princess said about the beads inside the band. I had to get those put in my ring. They were annoying at first but now I don't even feel them. They're just 2 metal beads that were soldered (sp?) inside the band so it fits!

I feel your pain - I wear a size 3 & 1/2 - and my e-ring rolls around my finger constantly, but it doesn't roll past my knuckle so I know it's not going anywhere! My freind got married last year and her wedding band had diamonds all around and could not be resized, so the store did what PPs here have said for you to try, she had a smaller ring made by the manufacturer. I'm sure there is a solution - Congratulations on your engagement!!

I have a Tacori with engraving all the way around as well and it is too big. I went to the store where DH bought it and they put the sizing beads in that were mentioned earlier. I don't even feel them and it keeps my ring securely on my finger.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You could get a ring gaurd to go in it - it's a tiny piece of metal that you really can't even see that goes inside about a quarter of the diameter around.

Thank you to everyone who responded! You have made me feel so much better, and I am stressing less about it. I mean I was totally freaking out about it and I have literally made myself sick since Sunday :sad2: I think I am so upset because my DF is so incredibly proud of himself for the ring, and I don't want to hurt his feelings. He told me the first night that it can be made bigger, but not smaller, so I have been trying to play off that it fits perfect since then. Silly of me, I know. So, I am going to tell him when he gets home tonight and see if we can go over to the store tomorrow and ask about it. Whew, I am so glad to hear that I'm not alone with my ring sizing issues. I am going to post pics in a few minutes- it is so much prettier in person though!!

Thanks again everyone, and I'll let you know what they tell me at the store. :thumbsup2

Here are the ring pics, sorry they are a little blurry! It is so shiny, I  it!!!!

Your ring is gorgeous...congratulations! I was going to suggest the sizing beads as well.

Well, DF talked to the jeweler this morning and she said sizing balls are easy to do and she suggested them right off the bat. Apparently it is a very common thing! I am going to get them put in next Tuesday- I am so excited :goodvibes

I am so glad you found a solution and it will be easily done! :thumbsup2 Congratulations on your engagement. Your ring is really beautiful! :faint:
