I think my grandfather is dying

I'm very fortunate that at 29 I still have all 4 grandparents. My grandfather is 78 and has cancer in his spine. We fear that it has spread to his brain. He has been hallucinating lately and just the other evening he starting seeing his deceased mother along with another woman in a flowing white dress

I'm so sorry Kim. My grandfather, my last living grandparent, is on hospice care. I know your pain. I hope his passing will be easy for him.

Awww, so sorry to hear this.....I lost my grandfather a year and a half ago and it was painful. My other grandfather died three weeks before I was born. Sending hugs your way....

I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. I would recommend that you get the book "Final Gifts" which was written by a hospice nurse. It helped us with my brother's fight with cancer.

I am very sorry.

I just lost my grandmother on January 9th.

On Dec. 31st, she was "seeing" things and calling out to her little baby who died more that 70 years ago! This baby died at 1 1/2 years old and she told us his name & that he had got a sickness and died. That was all she ever said about him (except that when he died it almost broke her and Pop-pop's hearts) and then when we'd visit NC where he was buried) we'd always go put flowers on his grave. Anyway, when we heard her shouting for him and calling to him on Dec. 31st, we felt like she may be getting close to death because sometimes people will "see" people who have passed before them when they are dying.

I hope that you are able to spend some precious time with your grandfather or talk to him on the phone or something. My Nana was 91 but it still hurts...more than I expected.

Kim, I will keep you and your grandfather in my thoughts. I'm sorry. I lost my grandmother at 28--my only grandparent I ever knew--and it was so hard. Prayers for a gentle passing.

Brenda, I'm also very sorry you lost your Nana. Grandparents enrich our lives so very much.
