I Think My Dad Is About To Convert!

Their Dell is acting up again (2nd time in less than a year) & now he has a virus on his PC at work that won't allow him to surf the web.

A few years ago he wouldn't even say the word Apple without a smirk. A few weeks ago he asked me over to take a look at the computer & under his breath he said, "just one more reason to buy a Mac".

Meanwhile mom has been wanting a Mac for a while & after she saw the new iMac, she was totally sold.

Well, today he calls me up from work & says "hey, do you have some time to answer some questions about Macs?" & I told him a few things (apparently he'd done some research on his own though) & then he asked if I would go with him this evening to Fry's to check out the Macs.

I can't believe it!

Right now all he's getting is a DOS prompt & tech support at Dell told him he needed to use the restore disk...only they didn't send it to him intially & they no longer have Windows Me, so unless he wants to buy XP (for $400) he has to get it from someone else. He's livid.

Anyway we went to Fry's & he was looking at them. I was expecting him to be a little confused or ask "how do I do this or that." He jumped on & within a few minutes he was feeling really comfortable. The only things he was saying was "Cool!" & "Wow!"

Right now he's debating between a 17" cinema display iMac or the 17" eMac.

My sister also has a Dell that is basically collecting dust & she said that if I do buy another Mac that she'd buy the one I have right now.
