I was talking my evening walk on the prairie path tonight. I turned a curve and see this lady walking towards me. She really wasn't dressed for walking, more for an office and way over dressed for the 80+ degrees with 70% humidity. As I got closer I noticed she was reading something as she walked. As I passed her I noticed she was reading a People magazine!! I could not believe it.

This trail is beautiful. It has a pond, wildflowers, all sorts of birds and wildlife. This person was missing it all. I hope the article about Brangelina was worth it.

It is a shame that people can't stop for a moment and appreciate the beauty life offers us each day. She could probably have been on a break from work and is so used to mulit-tasking that she was taking the opportunity to walk for exercise and get some reading done at the same time. Some days at the office you just need to get away and get some fresh air.

If not in exercise mode I will read and walk...just depends how good the book is

Wow! If I tried reading and walking, I'd fall flat on my face. I've tried reading on a treadmill and I couldn't even do that!!!

If I do manage to get out into the real world to walk--especially without the children--I enjoy taking in what is going on around me. No magazines for me!!

I agree! I can't imagine trying that, I am sure something would catch my feet and I would fall down.

Yeah I am pretty lucky, I'm surrounded by prairie paths. With the way those paths twist and turn, reading and walking would be very dangerous for a klutz like me.
