I Think I've Lost It

I just booked Coronado Springs from 12/24 to 1/1. If you look at my timer you will see we are also going for Thanksgiving. But here is my rationalization... We are building a house and it won't be finished until after Jan. 1st. The house we live in now is going to settlement mid- December. So we will be in a hotel for Christmas. So I checked on AP rates and I got CS (not much else left) for $79/night. I can't get that cheap of a hotel around here for that much (not to mention one with a food court, pool and theme parks attached to it.)

The dilemna is that my DH doesn't have any vacation left after our Thanksgiving trip. I'm a Real Estate Appraiser and I make my own hours, so a few more days away won't matter. We are driving down on the night of 12/23 and he will fly back to PA on 12/27 to work. Then he is going to fly back to FL on 12/31 and we will drive back to PA on the first. Luckily we have a credit with Southwest so it won't cost him a thing to fly. In my Disney obsessed mind, it is perfect.

So it will be just me and the 3 kids for a few days over Christmas break. My friends all think that I've lost it when it comes to Disney. I'm beginning to think they are right. I figured only the DIS people would understand.

Yes, you've most certainly lost it. You're rationalizing every decision. But, I see nothing wrong with that. Have fun and make everyone jealous! ::yes::

LOL! Sounds logical to me!

Great minds (and Disney minds) think alike!;)

go for it and don't look back!:sunny:

You're rationalizing just like I am for our short trip next weekend. It's DH's and my 15th Anniversary and we wanted to go away for a long weekend (w/out kids of course). Southwest released their $98 RT specials in August so I looked into WDW for our celebration. Long story short is that I am spending LESS by going to WDW for 4 days than I would if I had just driven 2 hours north to the mountains for the same amount of time!

Airfare for two: $230
Car rental: $73
BCV: $0 - own DVC (no extra $ out of pocket)
Passes: $0 - have days left on hoppers bought for previous trip

That's only $300!! I couldn't even get the hotel here for that!!

DH and I are not big eaters on vacation and won't be spending a lot on souvies as we've been a few times over the past couple of years. I figure we're getting away with less than $500 for the entire 4 days!!

DH just laughs at me.....friends at work just shake their heads.....what can I say? I love the place; any excuse to head down there!

Have a wonderful time on your trip!

Great minds think alike, I can't see anything wrong. All your thinking WILL drive you ccrazy. Everythng works out in the end no matter how much we rethink any decision, go have fun and enjoy your new home when it is done, you lucky stiff. :D

Thanks everyone. It is good to know I am not alone.:earsboy: DH thinks I'm crazy but he went along with it. Anything to save a buck. So, Mickey here we come again.

Who cares what everyone thinks- I feel sorry for those people who don't "get it"! We have spent 45 days at Disney in the past 12 months- and loved every minute of it. Have a wonderful time!!!!

You definitely came to the right place for people that would understand!! I hadn't been to WDW in years and since we went this summer I have become obsessed. People at work would think I was crazy if I let them in on the fact that we will use our AP's 3x this year (shhh)

I'd take any opening I had to rationalize a way to the world!!! We will be going in early Dec for a 1st time visit during the holidays. I can't wait!!! I am also already researching/planning our Summer 2005 trip. I just noticed we are under double digits for Dec and under 300 for Summer :jumping1: :jumping1:

Enjoy your trip to the fullest!!!

you're just addicted to Disney! Welcome to the club. We've already been twice this year, both times for 7 nights, and I've been scheming and scheming to try to get back for one more shorter trip. So far, haven't convinced my husband but he's weakening.

What a great idea! Everyone wins by having a chance to relax during a stressful time!

It sounds quite logical to me. I am actually a bit jealous. I believe any chance you get to go to Disney is one you must take. Have a great trip!!
