Not a groin one, but an lower abdominal one. But there is no lump sticking out, just pain. First I was afraid I might have appendicitis, but then it got much better. Now it comes and goes.
What are the symptoms?

Denise, please be sure you don't have appendicitis. Appendicitis pain that is severe and then suddenly gets much better is Not good. When did this happen? You might want to call your doctor just to be safe.

It started Sunday night. I think by now I would have lost my appetite or started vomiting or have a fever if it was AP. I did put in a voice mail to my GYN thinking maybe it was ovarian, but now I'm thinking it doesn't feel like that. It didn't hurt all day until about 3:00 this afternoon, so I thought it had gone away.

I had a friend who had a hernia operation not to long ago. I know there was a lot of pain and discomfort, and it would sometimes come and go, but the longer he waited the worse it got. Please have it checked soon.

I've had seven hernia operations!! :(
But mine were/are from stitches from a previous surgery coming undone.
I found that once the stitch "popped" it didn't hurt anymore.

Get it looked at, they don't go away.

I had an umblical hernia that I had repaired, and then it reoccured. The second time I didn't even know I had it....nothing sticking out, until the doctor found it doing a manual exam.

The pain does come and go...if the tissue gets caught in the tear in the umblicus, it gets strangulated and causes the pain. But it can then slip back inside the tear and the pain goes away. I assume the same thing applies no matter the site of the hernia.

I think it's best that you called the doctor, and get it checked out right away, to rule out the possibility of anything serious.

Let us know how you're doing!

You should probably ask your doctor. I'd imagine that he'd have better advice...

Denise, I am sorry to hear about this. I have no advice, silly me didn't even know woman could have a hernia, just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you. I hope you can get to see a doctor soon. {{HUGS}}

I agree with everyone else who said you really should have it checked out by a Doctor, Denise.

Please do and let us know how you make out!
