I was born a blonde, but my hair has darkened as I have gotten older...it is naturally now light brown, almost a mousy brown. I have blue eyes and fair skin w/ pink undertones. Let me emphasize how white I am...in middle school my nickname was Casper. :sad2:

Do you think someone with my coloring could go blonde, and if so, what shade? Or should I aim for a shade a little darker than blonde...open to suggestions, I know it's difficult w/o a pic, just let me know what you think.

Oh, I will not be doing this on my own...going to a professional this time...too many close calls during my at home haircolor adventures! :p

I don't know, going blonde might wash you out. I would ask your styist what would look best on you. Maybe a dark blonde with a lighter blonde foiled highlights????

That's what I was thinking, foil in hi-lights and over the next few months go lighter and lighter that way until you get to where you want. I don't think I'd just go flat out blonde.

I did this and it looks very natural. I am very fair with light brown eyes. My name is Snow White in the family so I can relate. Go for it!

That's exactly what scares me, getting washed out. Want to avoid that.

Here's a decent pic of me (I'm the girl, btw!):

I think foil hi-lights would be beautiful on you!!

I don't know how old you are but I look a LOT younger with my hair lighter. That was a bonus.

I think you could do it. I would do it gradually with highlights. Maybe get a few different tones of highlights.

I agree, i would do it with highlights! That way if the look is not for you it is just highlights not all of your hair colored!

Here's a pic of DD, she get Matrix Socolor #7 with blonde foils. Sort of a medium to dark blonde color. You could do something like this and get either more or less foiling done. You don't look terribly pale in your pic, but only you know your true color. If you are truly pale, going a light blonde may make you look anemic. I don't think that is the look you are going for!!!! If it where me, I would start a darker blonde with foils, and if you want, go lighter the next time.

This is exactly what I have. I am very fair skinned with blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. My hair started getting boring. I wanted to go blonder but I thought I would look washed out. So now I get ultra light blonde highlights and some light brown lowlights. It gives me the blonde I want with some dimension without looking washed out. Ask your hairdresser for help, they always know what looks good.

Have you ever considered shades of red???

You sound exactly like me except with my fair skin and blue eyes, I was born with VERY dark brown hair. The dark hair always overpowered my face since I am so fair (white t-shirts have more color than I do!) Red seems to be the best color for me. The downfall is that reds fade fast.

Good luck!
