I think I lost the magic

I just have to say wow!!! LOL! I wish you could have seen it 20 years ago when it was just a nice little park with a real steam train that cost 50 cents. We'd pack a cooler and stop at the KFC for a bucket of chicken to eat before the laser show because there weren't any restaurants in the park. The school kids sang Cristmas Carols on the lawn the day after Thanksgiving and driving through snowflake lane on the way out was the highlight of the night. I could go on and on and honestly, I think it's too commercial now and I miss the way it used to be, but we still go, probably take it for granted. I'm glad you like it.

I totally understand how you feel. This was the first time we went twice in one year and it was enough for me for awhile as well - our trip was amazing - I'm just ready to go somewhere else. So we won't go next year and may go in 2007 - we'll see.

Sadly, I felt this way my last trip. I am thinking of Universal/IOA (we've never been and my 4 year old is a HUGE Jurassic Park fan). Or even (aack!) Myrtle Beach. I just feel like I need a more relaxing (cheaper) vacation this year. But really, how relaxing a vacation can you have with a very active 4 year old boy?

As much as I love Disney, I don't think I would enjoy going every year! There are so many other wonderful places to visit. Why don't you take a break, 2 or 3 years, and I'll be the "magic" will come back!

I always start feeling the itch to see Disney after I've been gone for 2 or 3 years. We just went last May (had such a wonderful time!) so now my head is swimming with all the other places we can go. Disney's the furthest thing from my mind right now.

Don't feel guilty! Just take a break...do something easy like renting a cabin or a cruise and enjoy yourself...

This is me!! I feel the exact same way. I love to see alot of things. I can't imagine my only vacation destination to be WDW.

We have friends that go constantly - so much so the DH hates Disney now and refuses to go. You know the saying - too much of a good thing

I think I appreciate it more too by not going every year.

I'm 36 years....I DID see Stone Mountain 20 years ago. I vaguely remember it, but as you said, it was very simple. Mom cooked up a nice dinner at my sister's house and we took it to the laser show with us. My sister, niece, and I sat on one blanket, and mom and dad were on the other! WHAT FUN!!!
I still enjoy it as it is now though. It was the first time my DH had ever been last May, and he said that he REALLY enjoyed it.
