I think I like this race better.

Yup, Kecia mentioned the Race for the Taste when she was talking about the series. It is a 10K (6.2 miles) scheduled for October 11, 2009. You get a cool little medal that is shaped like a chef's hat and has a knife, fork, and spoon dangling from it.

Before you know it they'll be adding the Tink Drink, so all your DATW people will have an event too!:thumbsup2

They should have it again this year. I'm waiting for registration to open, since we planned our Oct trip around it.

I arrive that day :cool1: - If I could run 6.2 miles I would have done that so I will just have to enjoy Food and Wine and skip the running ;)

Maybe we can start it up, as sort of a "grassroots" sort of thing...and Disney will pick up the mantle as soon as they see how popular it is!

I think I'd like that race if they have food stations every half mile. :)

They give you chocolate in the full marathon.

Ssssshhhhhh... don't tell Teresa.

With all the suggestions added, I  this race :rotfl:

Hmmm...how far would teresa go for chocolate :rotfl2:

cheers,
:flower3:

They also give bananas and various other foods, but not many people will run 10k for a banana.

If you really want to be fed when you run, sign up for an ultra. On a marathon, you're lucky to find a mini-size candy bar, or a hard candy, or the like. On an ultra, you can see chips, oreos, M&Ms, pretzels, and so on.

(Of course, the downside is that they expect you to actually do the entire 30+ miles, but hey, free oreos, right?)

I'm still waiting for the "Drinking around the world 5k" :) Of course, the problem being that there might be people who end up in the fountains or the like... Okay, probably not such a good idea... However, it's a great after-race activity!
