ok, let me explain. I have seen many of you around VMK and I have just been too plain shy to approach you. I got started on VMK by accident in January. I live very close to Disneyland and visit there often with my family. We were in line for the new Monsters Inc ride and the cast member gave us cards for VMK golden doors. Well, my DS 8 wanted to know what it was for. The next day, we signed up on VMK. Within 5 minutes, my DS was asked if he was taken. He turned to me and said "what do they think I took?" Ok, we ignored it and moved on. He went for a ride on the monorail and was asked again. Hmm, now I was a little worried. We then tried out the pirates game. Having never played before, we explained to the team it was our first time. They said no problem. However, during the game, my DS received constant messages of "you sock". He had no clue what this meant but it was still upsetting to see happen to an 8 year old. We then decided, maybe VMK was not for him right now. SO, I took over an account to look around. Well, now I am addicted. I play everyday whenever I can and the kids help me decorate my rooms or make my quests. So, yes I am an adult with 3 children and I love VMK. I have always been a lurker on the DIS boards and never had the courage to post. But since I see all of you around VMK, I decided to go ahead and introduce myself. I would love to be a part of the DIS and get to know you all better. I know I have played with or against many of you in pirates and mansion and I know I love Ranch's quests! So please, I would love to get to know all of you and I am sorry this is so long!

I am glad you introduced yourself, Welcome! It is always nice to meet someone new.

The DIS community is an excellent one to become involved with. Before I joined, I was a lurker as well...for several months, it wasn't until I joined when I discovered how great it really is.

Glad you decided to come out of hiding and join the fun!!

Your story is very similiar to mine, with the exception that I played before my kids started. I was checking it out to be sure it was "safe", which I feel it is for the most part. I'd love to put a stop to the "taken/boy & girl friend, baby" junk, but I don't see that happening. The Dis is a great group to play with and hopefully you won't hear bad stuff from any of them. They are always helpful and there when you need them.

Hope you can join us on one of our So Cal Dis/VMK meets.

It is all my husbands fault that we are here though lol- he started playing just because it was Disney lol- and then started an account for our dd (8) and I started playing to help her out. Shortly after that I created my own account and one for our son who is almost 2 (he helps to play by cheering us on with every pirate ship we sink and every firework we explode and loves to have us go to the music mix room)

I understand your reservations with taken- I showed my dd how to click ignore and just leave a room- and we are always around when she plays- so an adult can help out if needed- she only just started to play games and hasn't tried pirates yet -I can't play that game lol

You will find there are many adults on vmk- and just as addicted as you are- hope to see you around in the game-

Welcome! I am a mother of three and a VMK addict. I discovered this wonderful game at Disneyland in December when I took the kids. We took all day to do the quests and even had daddy meet us at the park with the Holiday Quest print out. If I had only know about the Dis prior to going, the kids would have been able to ride some rides. Oh well, we had a great time and were hooked before we even knew what the game was.

I also was a lurker on the Dis for several months before joining, I don't post alot, but I read the boards every night. I've made some great online friends and sure you will too. Have fun and see you virtually soon!
