I just bought annual pass vouchers and the cost, with tax, was $675. Unless you only got 6 days a year, you are not paying over $100 to enter.

Since your AP expires this summer, that would be 3+ trips on an AP or $225 per trip. What is your complaint?

Not the OP, but I feel priced out as well. I've had an annual pass many times. The annual pass is a great option if you are planning a lot of park days or several visits.

On my last visit I paid for someone to visit a park for one day. Over $100 with tax. It felt like a very expensive price to pay.

I think the value for me is less than it used to be. So to have the prices raised so much means I could care less about paying for tickets.

Cost to renew AP is less than buying an new AP outright. That's a savings for you, OP.

As OP wrote, new one-day prices may exceed $100 in next increase. Let's look at that:

MK one-day ticket is $99+tax right now.
EP-HS-AK one-day ticket is $94+tax right now.

So, a one day ticket increase that goes over $100 is not much of a shock.

I know what you mean Judique. Last spring we took our nieces to WDW and their Grandparents (my inlaws) both in their 80's, to WDW and since they felt they couldnt go too much in the parks we paid for daily passes whenever they felt up to going. It was very expensive for both of them for day passes on 3 days...I wish I knew ahead of time that they would be up to 3 days as I would have gotten them 3day tickets but they insisted they would only be able to go 1 or maybe 2 days max to the parks. Regardless it made memories that we will treasure but I hear you on the cost. Its getting out of hand.

We still have non-expiring park hoppers (DD and I have 2 days and DS has 4) which we paid about $35/day for. That's the only way I'll be back to WDW. Not enough value in it for our family.

I have to say the value is in annual passes and multi day tickets. I would never ever spend the money for a single day ticket

IMO this isn't just a WDW thing, but is happening across the board for concerts, shows, etc. I often see concerts I wouldn't mind going to, but cannot stomach the almost $100 price tag many of these tickets cost. A good example is the circus. I didn't take DD this year because non nose-bleed section tickets were around $60-70 a person. This would be around $200 for my family of 3 for 2 hours worth of entertainment. Has Disney gotten expensive? Yes, but there is a lot more value in paying $100 for a full-day ticket that includes an entire day's worth of rides, shows, parades, and fireworks.

We stayed off site for the first time last year because it is simply too expensive.

Honestly, when I look at the cost of other things, including admissions to museums, concerts/shows or sporting events, I still think that Disney is a good value because of what admission includes (particularly for a multi day ticket). Food and drinks area also not badly priced when I compare to where I live... Staying on site however is a whole other story...Thats where I feel I can no longer stay on site.

One day tickets are definitely expensive. But most entertainment is. It cost $20 for DH and I to go to a movie in the afternoon before the prices are increased. Looking at taking DD to Disney on Ice and they want $50 a ticket. Thankfully I had access to the presale and opening night was only $21 each. But $70 for the three of us to see an hour long show is expensive. I don't know how parents of multiple children can afford to do anything with their kids today.

My point was the OP has an AP and makes multiple trips per year. She is not paying a $100 per day with an AP, unless she only enters a park 7 days during the year. Plus she can park hop and, if she is offsite, free parking.

Hardly likely with three or more trips on one AP.

Just one 10 day trip for us is $67.50 per day with our AP.

My problem isn't so much the individual price for one day but if/when they do away with the no-expiration option. For years I've bought either an AP (still a viable option, but not for how often I personally visit anymore) or a 10 day, non-expiring ticket. The 10 day tickets have been fantastic for the last several years (no trips one year, 3 days the next, 5 days a year after that, etc.). Whenever that option goes...I'll still go, but not even as often as I have been going recently. Also, for me that would probably be the last straw to push me to full vacations at Universal with maybe a day at Disney instead of the reverse which is how I've been traveling for a long time. The times, they are a changing.

I have 3 kids and doing any extra "fun" stuff is getting prohibitively expensive, especially because I'm a SAHM. The kids are on February break and we wanted to do something with them and they chose a place that has lots of bounce houses. It's $12 a kid. So that was $36 to bounce around for 90 minutes. For us that's a splurge, but we had planned ahead and budgeted for it. As far as going to movies or things like that, we just don't do it, too expensive.

Instead we rely on doing free or low cost things. When it's warm we spend lots of time at the playground or local parks. We also go to the library a lot. They do great free children's programming...plus the kids like to just go there and hang out. We make a big deal of doing "special" things with what we already have. We will do family movie night where we order a pizza and make popcorn and everyone gets to stay up late and watch a movie. The kids will have "sleepovers" where everyone takes turns sleeping in their siblings room when it's not a school night. I don't think my kids feel like they want for anything! We are always upbeat about what we are doing and kids pick up on that and will follow your lead.

On our trip last month, we skipped the park hoppers and Photopass Cd to save money. We also cut back on Disney restaurants and souvenirs. Their food prices are out of sight! We probably will not go again until 2017 unless we got a really great pkg deal.

We do the same thing. Movie night is fun. We also do game nights and music night. We play music videos and dance around. Tons of fun and doesn't cost anything. We like to walk the local trails too. It is usually just $3 or so for the parking pass and we pack a lunch.

We're a family of 6 so no mater when we go it's expensive. DH and I laugh at WDW commercials advertising xx day stay at a Value resort for a family of 3, as 10 years ago the same ad was for a family of 4 at a much lower price. The ticket price increase is moderate, but when buying tickets for 6 it adds up. Plus there is a cross country flight to prepare for that whenever we want to go seems to be in the $500+/ticket range. DLR is only slightly cheaper as we can drive it in 2 days. Thankfully our DLR APs are getting us through 2 more trips.

It's been figured that the prices raised about 1% which isn't that much and without tax MK was already over $100
Plus I heard the combined the water park tickets? Not sure just read something a few days ago lol

That's true that the amount of THIS increase is not substantial, but when you consider that the price of the same ticket in 2005 was $54.00 , that's a MASSIVE increase!!! I'm a shareholder and I can tell you that those increases didn't make it to my dividend check :confused3 :rotfl:
