I think I had my first hot flash...........

Oooooh, be careful what you wish for! I thought I would not mind them becasue I was always cold. I cannto believe that I argue with Dh aboaut the heat. I shut is off......he turns it up. I open the window, he turns red! I kick all of the blankets off the bed, he shivers! I stand on the porch and wait for the waves of heat to go. I feel like I have those waves like you see on the asphalt in the summer. I swear that is what it feels like to me.....

We have two sets of blankets on our bed, one for me and one for him!

I'll soon be 52 and have never had a hot flash. Since I'm cold all the time, I've kind of been looking forward to them.

There's still hope you'll get them!! I'm 52 also and just started hot flashes 3 months ago. I was like you & usually cold. A few years ago I started to feel a little warmer. Thought that I was having hot flashes then. Wrong!!! All of a sudden, out of the clear blue, no other symptoms, instant hot flashes. I laid down in bed one night & within 3 minutes felt like my face & chest were on fire.

Took a few nights to figure out what was going on. Still can't believe all it takes is laying down to sleep to bring them on. I used to sleep with flannel PJs, blanket, bed spread, socks & sometimes a housecoat. Now it's short sleeved cotton pjs,light spread & sometimes only pjs & the sheet. Haven't needed to go au natural & hope it doesn't come to that!!!

Friends have suggested Black Kohash. Started that & noticed a big relief after only a few days. Also heard that Oil of the Evening Primrose helps but I haven't tried that one. Good luck if you get them!!
