Dancing and singing along with you. 14 year old daughter that has mood swings like you wouldn't believe...or wait, maybe you would. Tantrums like a 2 year old....oh yeah....I am the stupidest person on the planet.
I think I'll go to bed now and dream about going away.....far away :smokin:

Come with us, Sadie! "Off the Florida Keysssssssssssssssssss.................there's a place called Kokomo............."

Good Morning Fellow Teen Parents!

In Michigan you have to be 14 & 9 months to take the classes & get your driving permit.
My 17 y/o DS has his license (I believe this is why DH is getting gray hairs) but 17 y/o DD hasn't been allowed to get her license until she gets her grades up, she's far too social & isn't overly concerned about getting good grades-she's perfectly happy to just get by.

& I can sympathise with the poster who said they were the stupidest person on the planet.............my kids think I'm dumb as a stump too!

Tell her to not feel bad. DS failed the test for his learners permit 2X then aced the 3rd time. 18 months later he made a 92 when he went for his road test last week. We found out then that a lot of people we know (his age, my age, and even my mos age) failed at least 1X. I think it was my mom's BF that failed 2X. Guess what his profession has been for the last 30 yrs... Truck Driver LOL.

At our high school if you get at least a B in drivers ed. class you do not even have to take the drivers test. When I took my daughter for her license all we had to do was show her permit, her grade sheet from the class and the sheet that logged her required 25 hours of driving practice. It was much less painless than I thought.

OMG You mean it gets worse? Not better? oh god please help me cause my DD7 I think is still suffering from the terrible twos and I keep hoping that it gets better. Please I beg of you!!! Tell me it gets better!!! :hourglass

Morning... working from home today... so i can take the verbal abuse from the teen crowd at 6:30 when i try and wake them up..

the teened, crabby and full of 'tude crew left at 7 am.. High school son only has a 1/2 day at school, so he was doing the neener neerer thing.. of course then Jr High son neenered back that he didn't have finals to study for all weekend.. Really, :scratchin they act like 2 year olds with verbal skills..:rotfl2: :confused3 ...

My oldest just turned 15 and he hasn't brought up the driver license thing since we told him that he has to pay for insurance and he dosn't have the $$$$. He will have to take Diver Ed in school , but we are putting it off until junior year.

:lmao: I really like hate it like when they like do the like thing. I do like some of the cool words that I am picking up from my youngest though. For example "OH SNAP" of course I am not ALLOWED to say these same words around her friends  I do anyway and THEY think I am soooooo cooolllllll. :rotfl:

Oh an for the record I have RAISED 4 teens already the youngest is my 5th. Yes you do regain your intellegence about the time they go to college. All the summer months before college you are still (dumb parents) but when they come home that first time from college your (not as dumb as I always thought) by the end of freshman year YOU ARE SOOOOO INTELLEGENT!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: SO funny! I am not allowed to say "he's hot" drives DD crazy!! So of course I do it anyway :rotfl:

My son is 21 and has lived on his own, so I am not dumb to him anymore.. you are so right about that!

I have DS at 18 so I wasn't prepared for teen stuff and almost didn't make it, it was the worst years ever! I mean meds and all!!! He was wanting to be sooo independant and I just couldn't let go... boy I NEVER wanna do that again! He is doing well and now knows why I was so crazy! He hugs he gives me now are so tight and long! It was well worth it

But lesson learned and DD will have to learn to fall and get back up on her own! Any over protectove parents will know what I mean. So far is nothing like him so I am not sure how it will go. But DH is DS's step and his father was only his pal, so that one was a challenge for us. DD will have hell to pay by DH when she gets outta line. Thankthelord!!! :woohoo:

My hat is off to all of you other teen raised/raising parents !!!!!!!!!!!!

We should have a WDW trip for survivors of teens, I can make up special tee shirts!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

My Mom's policy was you hand me a diploma- then you can get a DL! Hmmm she did have 6 kids, but I remember I got mine at 16 1/2 :confused3 guess she forgot the rule for me :rotfl:

Thanks for all the good wishes. DD did go back this AM and is now the proud owner of a licence. On the other hand Mr. Grad(14) is walking around the house picking up one thing at a time and tells me he is helping. We are only cleaning up for his party but he is doing as little as possible to help

::yes:: :sad: :headache: :drinking1

Can I join? My DS is 13.

Love the posts about Abraham and mothers eating their young! :rotfl:

Its Friday--about time for a margarita. Are there any left?

Congrats to your DD on getting her license.

But OMG our kids are twins. Mine help just the same way and pretend to not understand when i say something to them. "But MOM i'm helping" with the best innocent look that can be mustered. And the fights over who has to empty the dishwasher is priceless..

OK I do chores well, want me to come ova and do em? Jeesh we couldn't go out on Saturday till our were done... maybe that'll work :)
