I think I am confused about using add on points...help please

We currently own 150 points (June use year) at OKW. If I were to do an add on at another resort like VWL directly through DVC, can I combine the points to book on DCL. More precisely, if I added 30 points, can those points be combined with OKW points to purchase a cruise, or do I have to pay for a "whole person" totally with either OKW or VWL points? I'm not sure if my question is clear, so I will give an example.

Let's say that I have 450 points available from my OKW allotment. I have 90 points available from my hypothetical VWL allotment. If the cruise costs 178 points for the first and second adult, and another 110 points for the third adult, can I pay with 356 OKW points for the first two adults and 90 points from VWL plus 20 points from OKW for the third adult?

You can use all of your points to stay and do any thing you want, the only hitch is booking windows. (if you don't count having points available cause you used them all up on your last 20 trips to the world)

For items that involve giving up points but not actually making a direct reservation at a DVC resort, the answer is absolutely yes. The only problems that one could have in this area are two. First if the points were for an II exahnge where MS actually has to make a physical reservation, the 11/7 month window would come into play. The other would be if the points were diffierent use year or maybe if resale for the add on, they would be different contract numbers, even then MS can usually fix it.

The reason it's even an issue with things like the cruise is that you can only use one contract to pay for the cruise. They will transfer points that aren't technically transferable if they need to in this situaiton.

Thanks for the feedback. Your answers are what I thought was the case, but suddenly I was not sure because of the restrictions with II exchanges and actually booking rooms at DVC resorts. Thanks again for the help.
