I Take it All Back lol,Waitlists do Work!

Again we are taking GD for 4th of July week. Opened an email from DVC today & see that a BWV standard view studio come thru for us!

Originally, had a standard studio at AKV (values were gone at 11 months)

At the 7th month window, did walk a reservation a few days out using AK points. booked BWV pool view, cancelling the AKV stay

WL'd for same week for a standard studio at BW. Have looked at availability several times but not even a day was open.

We also own there & have been shut out completely in the past for a studio popular times. Never, ever imagined it would come thru, nice to be wrong

Happy to see the system does still work as intended at times, no stalking or walking!

I got my single night, studio, at BWV for our stay 2 weeks ago. Was on WL only for about 5 days! We had the rest of trip at BW Inn, so it made it so easy to switch sides of the resort after our arrival day, the one night at BWV. I forgot about it, and when email came, welcome to BWV, I was like, what are they talking about?? (we had a studio at BCV).

I'm really surprised to hear that! Really enjoyed our 1st one @ MK last month, hoping to do it again 10/3 I believe? Have our res in place @ WL already.

Congrats! That's encouraging. We're also on a WL for one day, around Christmas (also looking for SV, 2-BR @ BWV). We're trying to fly back a day later than originally planned and have gotten flights there already, but are waiting on this WL, to book the flight home. So, I HAVE been stalking the website, and it's been interesting to see how other days appear then disappear then reappear! Anyway, I'm still hopeful, but we will have to decide soon because of the flight.

congratulations! happy to see you got it and waitlist works. We haven''t had luck so far . Only waitlisted once before this time and it never came through. this time waiting on one night boardwalk view studio in july. /Already have a garden view booked but hoping for boardwalk to come through but so far no luck.

I’m glad yours came through. I’ve been on the WL for a standard view in June for 3 months, and nothing. I have a P/G view booked, but I’d like to save the 4 points if possible. If not, oh well as we have the other studio booked.

Congrats, glad to hear it worked out. I have used waitlists a few times and only once did it not come through. It's always great to hear when it works out for others. Enjoy your trip!

I'm afraid our waitlist luck may run out soon as we've also had some come thru. Last year we had to waitlist 1 night on a std. studio at SSR for this past Jan. when we decided to book a 2nd one for our son & his friend (during marathon weekend) and it came thru but THEN I went & waitlisted 2 n in a 1-bedroom std. at Jambo house for the last 2 nights on the same stay and THAT came thru too (so we ended up with a split - by choice). Then we procrastinated picking a week for this summer and when we finally decided on some dates I booked a week past our 7 mo. window - we had hoped to try Copper Creek and it was all gone. So I booked Jambo house for 8 nights and decided since that was a weird amount of nights I should do 2 shorter waitlists for CC. I did a 4-night one for a reg. studio and a 4 n. one for a studio with walk-in shower and lo & behold the one for the walk-in shower came thru!! So I canceled the other one (figured it was silly to do a split at the same resort - may as well keep the first 4 n @ Jambo) BUT I added another one for the other 4 nights in the walk-in shower. But now that we're a month in I've lost my place in line on the waitlist. Not sure what the odds are that we could actually get the other 4 nights at CC so we wouldn't have to split? Like I said, I'm afraid our waitlist pixie dust may have run out! But either way I'm tickled at the luck we've had with them coming thru!!

Yay! So happy for you! We have had a lot of success with waitlisting. In fact, we just had a Poly lake view studio come through for the same week! Can’t wait to watch the fireworks from our balcony!

I'm so happy for you. I once had a waitlist come through, but mostly I end up changing dates/ resorts.
