I still cry because Walt Disney died.

I have the book, Remembering Walt and when I get to the part where they talk about how sad they were when he died, I start crying.

It seems so silly to feel such loss for someone that I never knew personally, yet he always seemed so close. Does anyone else have such strong feelings for Uncle Walt?

I've never read that book, Sis.

I wish I could've shaken Walt's hand and told him thank you.

I have that book too and I do exactly the same thing, it's really sad. Walt was such a great man, I wish I would have had the chance to meet him.

Me too. It's probably safe to say there will never be another human being like him. He has brought joy to so many people and continues to do so, long after his untimely death. If it weren't for Uncle Walt, we wouldn't even be on the DIS - because there wouldn't be a DIS. Thanks Uncle Walt.:D

Whenever I watch Illuminations, I look up to the sky and say thank you.....and I always have tears in my eyes...
I know it is silly, but I frequently look up and thank Walt for bringing me so much joy....there is nothing like the feeling Disney brings!

Kamy :)

Walt Disney had an impact on the whole planet during his lifetime.
You could mulitply that several times for those of us on these boards. It's especially a shame that he didn't live long enough to see the fruition of "the Florida Project".

Whenever I go to DL, I always make a point to stop by the Fire Station on my way out of the park after dark. Everytime I look up and see the light left on for him there I get chills. Walt was the Man.

Oh, I am glad I am not the only one.:( :( :( A lot of things at WDW make me cry, but when people talk about Walt and what he did not get a chance to see, it just breaks my heart.:( :( :(

When we were at Disneyland 2 years ago, we took a tour of the Disney Studios. While the bus drove past a hospital right across the street from the Studios, the tour guide told us that is the hospital where Walt died. How sad it is, or maybe appropriate, that he died just yards away from his Studios.

We all miss you Walt! Thanks for all you've done!

My love for Walt and Disney was started the day he died as I was born that same day.

If you go into One man's dream at MGM. the picture of Mickey as the World crying was in newspapers on 12/16/66 around the US and I am sure the world the day after he died which was on 12/15/66!

Everytime I go into One man's dream I get all teary eyed at that picture as I know that picture will alsways have a special meaning to me!! Knowing that I was born the day Walt died!

I get teary eyed reading Remembering Walt.

Sat in the theatre in One Man's Dream after the movie was over, wiping the tears from my eyes.

Choked up touching the stage in the Main Street Theatre in Marceline, MO where Walt stood and addressed the town.

Get a chill down my spine every time I stand in front of the Partners statue at MK.

Wonder what might have been had Walt lived to see WDW or Epcot open. Every time I see him on DVD or hear his voice, I begin to think what if? Then I realize that was part of the beauty of Walt - he wanted us to dream, to dare, to do the impossible.

Miss him? Damn straight - his vision, his creativity, his innovativeness in so many respects have taught so many so much even since he died. His legacy continues to teach and pass along those pearls of wisdom to those willing to learn.

Thanks Walt -

Mark
