I Spilled the Beans Today..oh and no wait list luck!

My DS 9 had a bad day at school yesterday. This morning he has a runny nose and is afraid his asthma is going to kick in. We watched the weather this morning and it said it was going to rain here in CT this weekend. He looked at me with these puppy dog eyes and said, "This February vacation is going to stink! It's going to rain here all weekend." His little eyes were kind of full with tears and I just couldn't take it anymore!! I said "Kid! Don't be sad! You my friend are going to Disney World!!!!!!!!!!" I saw a flicker of excitement but he said, "No Mom, I mean THIS week, not our summer vacation." And I said, "Son, I mean this week too!" His eyes were as bright and as excited as ever. My little guy was back! He started screaming for his big brother who grabbed me when he heard the news. (Not something 12 year old boys do very often!) Then they ran downstairs to tell little brother (4) the news. He replied, "Yeah, I already knew that." He thought they were talking about August also. Sometimes he doesn't get the whole time frame/calendar thing!
Looks like we'll be at the WL. My wait list ended either Friday or Monday with no luck. Today is the last day I can cancel my cash ressie at WL without penalty, so maybe I'll give MS the old college try. It would be nice to save the money I'm spending on the WL, but truthfully, I am very looking forward to staying there!

Your news sounds like just what the doctor ordered for your son! Sorry to hear about the waitlist not coming through (sounds like a lot of that lately), but glad you will be enjoying the sunshine soon!

Have a great trip!! You will enjoy VWL. It is one of our home resorts. Your boys will love the pool. Try renting a boat and cruising across the lake past the Magic Kingdom. We did that on our trip in November and really enjoyed touring around past the Grand Floridian and Polynesian resorts. The ferry was transporting guests back and forth to the Magic Kingdom. It was alot of fun, in fact we did it twice during our week.

Your story brought tears to my eyes! Maybe it is because me son has been sick for the last 5 days and he is really starting to get discouraged. I wish I were able to tell him the same thing!

Nice story. What was the waitlist for? WL is awesome.

The wait list was for ANY Studio on ANY Disney property. I booked last minute 2 weeks ago and couldn't get a studio with my points anywhere. So I have a cash reservation in a regular room at the Wilderness Lodge...not a DVC Studio. Which is awesome, don't get me wrong..but it would have been nice to save $700 and use my points that are available.
