I recently bought a new car
and so between DH and I we had four vehicles. Needless to say one had to go. So I listed my ION on one of the online car sales web sites, and got a call a few days later. The man was from Pass Christian, MS, and was buying the vehicle for his daughter to go off to college in. She wanted exactly the car that I had, but he didn't want to pay for a brand new car for her, and the dealers generally sell them for $3000 more than private party. (It's only two years old.)
He also didn't want to buy one from a private party in his area, because so many are flood damaged vehicles.
I gave him the name and number of the service manager at the dealership where all the PM has been done on my car, e-mailed close up shots of the one minor cosmetic blemish on it, and of course the reason for selling makes perfect sense.
He flew in yesterday to pick up the car, and was hoping to be home in time for it to be parked in the driveway when she woke up this morning. What a great dad!
it was so painless, I thought I'd have to deal with tons of creeps.
