I'll be calling tomorrow to book an early January trip and we're still debating if we'll stay the Saturday night at BLT, or (cheaper) on the way there. That's if I can get a 2 bedroom on New Year's Day! Figured it'd be best to go ahead and reserve it, knowing I can change the reservation later - but by when do I have to drop that night so I can be sure to get my points back?

TIA - still learning!

As long as you cancel a reservation 31 or more days in advance, the points are returned to your account without penalty.

You may bank the returned points if your banking deadline has not passed.

If you cancel 30 days or less prior to arrival, the returned points go into a "Holding Account". Those points may only be used to make a reservation that is no more than 60 days away from the day you call to make the reservation. Holding Account points expire at the end of the use year and cannot be banked.
