I should be at Disneyland right now...I hate UPS!

No thanks to UPS we went to DL yesterday. I was able to get a copy of the tickets faxed to DL and they could look it up on their computers and issue new tickets. It was gloomy and rained in the evening-but we went!
When I got home I had a message that they found the package stuck in a conveyor belt that they use to load the trucks and I could come pick them up if I wanted them before Monday (a 25 mile round trip?!). I did speak with a very nice woman when I called back who was so upset for our family that she vowed to get our money refunded for the tickets, at least for 1 day admission as these were mulitday park hoppers and we wouldn't be able to use the two days we expected to use.
While we were at DL I was talking to a CM about what happened to us and she suggested we upgrade our tickets to annual passes to be able to "make up" that missed day. It was cheaper than buying an additional day of admission for all of us, so we did. Now, if UPS makes good on their word to reimburse us for the missed day then we will actually come out ahead!
Here's hoping UPS will follow through!

Thanks for all of your well wishes and positive thoughts. My DIS buddies are always there when I need them!

With 596 posts to their credit, the OP did not just fall off a turnip truck. Surely they have read about the E-ticket option on this board. I would never have depended on an overnight shipment from any service for something causing such a headache. They should have used the E-ticket option or just plan to have purchased the tickets when they got there.

And before jumping all over "Brown", I would like to hear their story. Did the ticket agency provide the tickets to UPS in a timely manner, if at all? Any dealings I have had with a delivery service over the internet, I was provided with a tracking number to follow the package across the country, state, or whatever.

Hopefully the OP and family can salvage some of the weekend.

Nope not off the turnip truck, just trying to save money by buying discounted tickets from a reputable agent. I had a tracking # that showed my tickets left the UPS facility at 7:46AM-out for delivery. The problem was they were not in the truck-they were on the conveyor belt that was supposed to load it onto the truck. UPS's side of the story varied from "It was a late shipment that just got to our facility" (at 12:30PM when I had the tracking info in front of my face telling otherwise) to "your driver is at lunch and he will drop it off as soon as he's done eating". When the truth of the matter was they lost them, knew they were lost and no one had the gumption to tell me the truth until they were closing shop for the day at 7PM and they realized they would be unable to lie any longer and get away with it.
When the supervisor called me at 7PM to explain that they were lost, she also apologized and told me that the employee admitted lying to me and there was no such thing as a "late shipment" that that was simply code for "we lost it and we're buying time" becuase they usually find it on the wrong truck or sitting where the truck was parked.
I was most upset by the way UPS handled it, as stated before-if I had known that they were lost I would have taken other measures and went to DL. But with assurances that they were coming "any time now" I sat and waited until it was too late, my mistake.
As for the agent, she was calling from her end also demanding answers. It wasn't until late Fri night that I realized that we weren't getting the tickets and went to plan B-at the suggestion of the agent. It was in no way her fault.

Hope this answers it all for you, I didn't provide all of the details originally for brevity.

Glad you were able to salvage some of the weekend. How good a deal/discount were you getting?

For as awful as the initial problem was, at least the second set of employees that you spoke to were very nice and willing to give you compensation.

That's lousy that it happened initially, but it seems like it worked out better for you in the end. That's cool.
