I think I'll go and find out what my options are.

no advice. just {{HUGS}}.

if it helps any, i think you are being smart. even if it is just to see. keep all your bases covered. let us know how it goes.

Thank you, I'm trying to be smart.

I hope its a woman Lawyer. If not, I hope its a good one. Also, make sure you bring ALL Financial Documents concerning your Husband. {{{Hugs}}}.

No advice, only {{{HUGS}}} I hope it goes well for you today Laurie.

She is female and she was recommended by a great one. The great one is a family friend of my husbands family. She wouldn't talk to me, understandibly.

One thing I did with my father's help was I kept a log of everything my ex did or said. I wrote down times and dates for all phone calls and for all visitation. It helped so much when he took me to court for not seeing the kids and I had proof of all his cancellations, etc. Keep a copy of everything that you give to your lawyer also. Some times things get lost. Be FIRM and STRONG. Try to have something about the kids education. I have the younger son as my income deduction (more years). My lawyer went for 5 years of college for the kids and that's what it will be for each one to graduate. So that was a help. We also made sure he had a life ins. policy with the kids as beneficiary.

Wishing you good luck today!! Bring notes of all the dumb things your ex to be has done along with notations of when this all started. Also make sure you understand how much an hour the attorney is going to charge. She will probably be charging you everytime you pick up the phone to talk to her. Bring in all financial papers(account numbers, insurance policies, stocks and so forth). Also bring some kleenex and maybe a few of your favorite tapes or cds to listen to on the way home from the attorney's office. You will be needing some comfort music to listen to on the way home. Stay strong!!! You will get through this!! Good luck Serena!!!

if she's a great lawyer but you don't feel comfortable with her, don't retain her. her style might clash with yours and you won't be happy.

have a general idea of what you hope to accomplish in the divorce, what's negotiable and what's not.

you have aright to a lawyer who will explain everything to you and who will listen to yoru concerns. you are the client, and ultimately the decisions are yours.

good luck with it.

Oooh.. I like Browneyes' thinking there!!! Just ask questions about everything and make sure that you understand everything the lawyer says.

As others have said, bring copies of all your current bills and keep a log of how much time he spends with the kids or anything he may say demeaning to you. Just record everything. You've got to cover all your bases and take care of yourself and your children.

My only advice is to listen to all the options the lawyer gives you and don't close your mind to any of them. In other words as wdw4us said, listen to your head not your heart.

Oops....Well, my advice still holds for when you reschedule.

She cancelled because she has had an allergic reaction to medicine.

They are going to see if she will be okay tomorrow or friday. They'll call me.
