MCO to RPH......is it better to reserve a spot on a Mears Shuttle, some other van service or just take a cab? I realy don't want it to take hours to get from the airport to the Royal Pacific nor do I want to spend a small fortune, but I'm not having luck finding out how long the trip from MCO to RPH will take nor how much a cab fare may be? I'm leaning toward cab, but any experiences/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Check out www.mearstransportation.com and you can do the fare estimator to get an idea of the cost.

It probably depends on how may people you have in your group. A cab will probably run around $45 from the airport, Mears runs around $20 for each person and a roundtrip car service will cost around $110.

I've always used a car service since there isn't a per person fee, they are waiting on you to arrive and you can get a free stop at the grocery store. Even if you only buy bottled water, you'll probably enjoy the convience of the grocery stop.

I am very curious too - we are spending the first couple of days at the RPH and then heading to the Boardwalk for a week at WDW. Usually we do Magical Express but that is not offered for Universal. Roundtrips are offered from MCO to hotel and back again but not to a WDW hotel and I do not want to rent a car. I am happy with the transportation..... oh BTW - its only 2 of us. Any ideas?

We've taken the Mears shuttle from the airport. The problem is that first of all you have to wait until they have enough people to fill the shuttle. Secondly, you have to wait until they drop everyone else in your shuttle off at their hotels which are usually not Universal but along International Drive. Although the price is cheaper, it takes considerably longer to get there.

We have previously taken a cab from MCO to Portofino Bay and from memory it was about $35. Usually we now just take the Mears shuttle when we get there (we don't prebook). We have never waited more than about 15 minutes for a shuttle and although you do have to sometimes sit while other people are dropped off we have never sat for ages.
You can get either a one way or return fare. If you really want to do it on the cheap you can catch the bus for $1.50 but that will take about 90 minutes.
From the Universal hotels to Disney we just take a cab as you cannot get a mears shuttle to pick you up from a Universal hotel to take you to Disney hotel.

Thanks for all the replies.....has given me lots of options to research and consider.
