I'm so proud of me! With all of the big Labor Day Weekend Sales going on, I saved 100%. I completely resisted the urge to buy anything! Anyone else?

LOL - great job. I have often tried to explain this concept to DW to no avail. She loves a deal, even if we don't need it. I know several people who have "saved" their way into bankruptcy.

Wow- how could you resist? Practically the whole mall was on sale. I bought quite a few things - all on sale, and mostly all needed. Of course there were a few deals that were just to good to turn up.

Couldn't resist...went to the Outlets yesterday and went to town on my wallet. :p

We didn't buy anything yesterday either!!

We did go out just to put some distance between us and the house but we made a deal that we would not buy a thing!!!

It was hard but we're determined not to spend on frivolous stuff because we're working hard to get out of debt so all extra money goes towards that.

So, we saved 100% too.

I'm with ya - I saved 100% by not going to the stores yesterday either!

It was tough - but quite necessary.....

Well I didn't save 100%, but I did save at least 50%! I had to buy some summery clothes for my trip in a few weeks. I got about 8 shirts and 1 skirt for about $100 from Old Navy, American Eagle and Aeropostale! Bought FI some great AE shorts for $18 each (50% off!).

I love sales! :)

Someone asked how do you resist--very easy! Don't go to the stores or look at the ads! We don't even buy a paper on the weeks I am not scheduled to go shopping. If you don't need it, you're not saving money! And I have determined I have waaaaaay too much stuff in my house already.

I worked-so time and a half, and DH worked an extra shift-big bonus $$ plus OT, and no shopping. I did, however, take advantage of the grocery store sales for my DD's birthday party this weekend. Sodas being the biggest thing, since we are having around 10 teenagers here! Yikes.

I just write it all down in a letter & mail it to myself around Thanksgiving. :jester:

I didn't "go" shopping anywhere but I did purchase a few Christmas gifts on sale at the Disneystore.com. I got some good buys too. :)

The thought of "saving 100%" reminds me of the personal finance magazine to which I used to subscribe. It always had good money-saving ideas. It was actually too good for the publisher's own good though. When time for renewal came up, I decided not renewing was a great way to save $30!:p
