I said Ohana, not Obama!!!! - A BFF's do NYE TR **UPDATE 11/4 Pg. 38**

Great slow start to the day! The chocolate croissants look so good! I had one at Starring Rolls (not sure how similar the two are) and it was awesome! I plan to eat one in March!

I agree on the FP return time to TT...especially considering it was a major holiday! And Mouse Gears is my favorite! I almost enjoy it more than World of Disney. Maybe because I get so turned around in WOD and it is always so crowded!

I like the recap! :thumbsup2 I tried doing something similar because I know when I read TRs and a day ends I can't remember what all happened that day!

That Yeti...he was a handful wasn't he! :sad2:
:lmao:

Sometimes, I don't know if they're all the same chocolate croissants. Now, that's not to say that they're not all equally yummy, because they are. But the one's I've gotten at the Main Street Bakery have been different. Who knows.

I was very happy with the return time for TT. Definitely good for the busy time of year that we were there.

I think the recaps are going to stay. It was lots of fun for me to put together actually. And yes, the Yeti is always a handful.

Good update. That yet sure gets himself in some weird spots.

Yes, he does. The whole mission of the trip was "where can we put the Yeti?"

Yay! Love the updates! Great shots of Epcot.
I definitely agree on the walking from the Poly to the TTC, my room was the last room in the building closest to the ttc, and it was awesome!! Such a short ride to MK/Epcot, heck yes! I love the ridiculous faces in the pictures too! Sometimes those just make moments the greatest!

That's awesome for the building you had at Poly! Our room was actually right between the TTC and the GCH, so I really liked the location.

I like the recap :)
Love Epcot, Yeti's updates are adorable. I actually took a yeti (a home made craft done by a friend of mine) to Europe and did things like that with him, he was another traveling yeti. Our friends all took turns with him when we were going places. It was fun :)

That's awesome you took a Yeti to Europe. I'm thinking about doing the same thing myself.

Um, I see absolutely NO reason why you shouldn't have had a chocolate croissant every day!!! :rotfl:

Hahaha the walk from the Poly to the TTC IS very convenient when you get your directional confidence! Apparently we needed a navigator like you!

Good job scoring the TT FP's! Can't wait to hear more about your Epcot day! :goodvibes

Chocolate croissants everyday for everyone!

I am a good Disney navigator. For sure. I can get you anywhere you want to go without a map.

Aw, great update! Your and Farrell's face-making is pretty funny! I make ridiculous faces all the time, but they don't end up looking funny - I end up looking psychotic. :(

How were the lines that day? Seems like you're getting stuff done!

I'm loving your croissant every morning - mom and I split that at the MK bakery one morning and it was tasty tasty!

I ended up at the Poly on my solo trip for a moment; I'd never been there before, but I grabbed the monorail over to the MK. It was HUGE!! Wow! I couldn't believe how big it was!!!

I just saw your tickers, too! - maybe my/our trip will overlap with yours this time, as I think we're going 9/24 through 9/30. Then we can have a little dismeet.

Haha, I'm glad that you think our faces look funny. Half the time I just think I look ridiculous.

The lines were kind of long, but we were able to get a few things done before lunch.

Poly is a big resort. It could be very easy to get turned around for sure.

Right now, we don't have a definite time for our F&W trip. I think we're going in October, but I'm not entirely sure yet. I'll definitely let you know though if our trips end up overlapping!

Just got caught up on your TR so far...oh my gosh, you had me laughing out loud! Literally, I LOL'd. The "driving miss daisy" reference and "gibbon arms" really got me. :rotfl2:

Love the Yeti updates too...I have a Yeti that is basically a giant puff ball. They make good pets.

Can't wait to read more!

Welcome aboard! Glad that I could give you a laugh about everything.

I love the Yeti, and the giant puff ball one is adorable.

Always a good idea to get a little sleep in every once in awhile...even on vacation. Sounds like a great early afternoon at Epcot. And how could anyone NOT like Nemo? One of my favorite attractions...just makes you happy.

I could not agree more. You need a couple of sleep in days for sure. Keeps you well rested and ready for everything I think. If not, then definitely a midday siesta.

I love Nemo. You're right, it just makes you happy and it makes me smile for sure.

NYE looked like a blast! I would never think of going to WDW over NYE but man, I think you changed my mind. I don't like that they closed the drink stations down early. I mean, hello! It's NYE people! Get with it!

Just as another poster posted, I think i'm going to have to buy a little mascot of my own for our trip. I love the idea of the little mini-TR of the Yeti! So fun!

I was a little disappointed that they closed the drink stations so early. It was kind of like "oh". I would have expected they'd be open a little longer, but it was like a hard stop almost immediately after the fireworks were done. So, the key is that you just have to get all you want before then. But I recommend going, it's a ton of fun.

Mascot's make the trip lots of fun. It's like "what can we do with him now?"

NYE looks awesome! One of my favorite Disney memories is the time I spent NYE at DHS. I love those fireworks.

Good decision sleeping in the next day. Have you ever had a chocolate croissant from Starring Rolls? I tried one once, but I didn't like it much and haven't had one since, but the pictures of your chocolate croissants look really good.

Once again, I'm behind! Looks like you girls had a blast on NYE!! Wish I would have joined you!!

That would have been awesome if you guys came along! It was so much fun.

The fireworks are pretty awesome there. It was just all over the place.

I haven't had the chocolate croissant from Starring Rolls. The ones from Captain Cook's were a little different than the ones that I normally have, but they were good. I typically go to the Main Street Bakery.

So I was a few updates behind, but it fun to read them all at once. NYE sounds like it was a fun night!

Makes me miss the good ol' days of Pleasure Island and walking from club to club with my big old bucket pail drink.

Oh Yeti. You and your shenanigans.

oh, and I found a pic online just for you my friend.....

despite the fact that it would have made more sense for me to try to emulate DeeDee, I was always trying to be Tiffany. And forget that I was also tone deaf.

Just happened across your TR's (read this one and "Wait, What? We ordered four pitchers, not five"). Love the fact that you can travel so well with your brother. My brother and I, sadly, would not make it past the first day.

Love the fact that you spent New Years Eve at DHS with your BFF. I spent one NYE with a good friend of mine back in 1995 and I swear, it was one of the best NYE ever!!!!! Would love to take my kids there someday.

Your yeti reports are hilarious!

I miss Pleasure Island so badly! I used to love going there and I was one of the many who mourned the loss of it greatly.

LOVE that picture! Man, I gotta get on YouTube now and get their stuff pulled up. And don't worry. You can still rock out if you're tone deaf.

:welcome:

I'm very fortunate that I have a great brother and that he and I get along so well. We actually work together too, and people ask us all the time how we do it.

This is actually the second NYE that Farrell and I have spent together out of town. One year we were in Vegas, which was crazy!

The Yeti is very fun to document. It's just a matter of how silly we can be.

Hilarious picture of Farrell on Everest!

Very cute photopass pics!

I love the volcano pool!

That Big Blue World song is one of my favorites! I love hearing all the little fishies singing it!

Where was the Mickey Pirate that the Yeti took pics with? I have never seen that before :confused3

I have to admit that I have the soundtrack for Finding Nemo: The Musical, so I love listening to all of them!

Haha. I will reveal where the Pirate Mickey was in my next update. It's in relation to where we were eating (and I had no idea it was there either).

Day 2 - Sunday January 1, 2012

So we left off getting ready to head to our lunch reservation. The answer of where we were going may surprise you.

0a7a849d.jpg

I had picked this because:

1) Farrell loves seafood

2) She loved the idea of the tank in the restaurant

Our reservation was for 2pm. And in case you're wondering this.....

.....is right outside of the Coral Reef. I had no idea it was there, and we all know that I love posing Yeti in different places. I mean, how could I resist.

Although I'm not going to lie, I was nervous that if a CM saw me, they would think that I was trying to steal Pirate Mickey.

"I swear Mr. Disney PoPo, I was NOT trying to steal Pirate Mickey....I was only trying to pose my Yeti with him.....yes I know I'm a grown up.....yes I know it's strange that I have a mascot.....but.....I....*sigh*"

We checked in and I asked the CM if we would be able to sit by the tank. She said she would try, but couldn't guarantee anything. I said that was fine.

I love the inside of this restaurant, it's so pretty.

We were walked into the restaurant very shortly after that, and wouldn't you know it, we were seated by the tank!

BOO YAH!!!!

This was our dining partner.

And, in true Farrell fashion, she says....

"That's not real, right?"

I said "oh, indeed he is real", and as if by sheer luck, that was that guys cue to start moving around.

Farrell: Oh my god!!!!

We loved our seat.

The restaurant is beautiful, of course, and the best part? Our waiter was from Belgium! (for those of you who don't know, my mom is from Antwerp, Belgium, immigrated here when she was 15. Yes, we all get a chuckle out of telling her that she came over on a boat......no really, she got here on a boat.....).

I told him that my mom was from Belgium. He asked where, and I said Antwerp. I asked him where he was from and he also said Antwerp. We talked a little bit about visiting there, and he asked me if I spoke Flemish (the Dutch dialect that's spoken there).

Me: Ik en bichen Vlaams sprechen (I speak a little Flemish)

So he wanted me to talk to him in Flemish the whole time. It was difficult, but I did my best. He said I did fine. Of course, I had to text my mom to tell her about it right then.

Farrell was very happy to be in such a cool restaurant.

Remember.....he's not real!

My entree....Lobster Ravioli...very yummy and very rich

01a63013.jpg

Farrell's entree...Mahi Mahi...I so should have gotten this, because it was amahzing.

My dessert...the Chocolate Wave...so good. It was so good. So good...shoot I just drooled on my keyboard...

Farrell's dessert...sugarless Cheesecake...it was pretty good. Farrell is not much of a chocolate fan. Don't hold it against her.

Our tummies full and satisfied, our server came by to give us our check.

Danielle: Leuk om u te ont moeten (It's nice to meet you)

Waiter: Ik ook (Me too)

So awesome this experience. And what a ding dong, I didn't get a picture of him! Argh!

This meal was very good and I'm glad that I made the reservation. I had hesitated a little, because the last time I had eaten there it was a little bit underwhelming. But this time, it was great!

We still had some time to burn before our Test Track FP, so we headed to...

f2a3f8ba.jpg

Farrell really loved finding out that Disney tried to do things to take care of the environment.

Nikki, want to make a margarita?!

5ceed1e3.jpg

After that, it was time for....

691844ec.jpg

We had to take that pic, because Farrell's hubber dubber is a mechanic for GM.

You can see, there were a lot of crowds on this day.

49bf1a98.jpg

We waited a while in the FP line.

Farrell: Wait, I thought it was a FASTpass?

I told her the story. You know, that you can still wait, you don't always get on right away. She was okay with that explanation.

As you can see from the picture, Farrell loved the ride.

a704db6d.jpg

Me? I'm just a goober.

We decided to head out of the park after that. We wanted to relax, take a snooze, and then hit MK for EMH!

Up next: No, no, Farrell, don't look at the fireworks yet!
