I?s Stitch too much for my 6 yr. old

Hi! My DD6 loves Stitch, but I've heard this new attraction is kind of scary and not really that good. Will it scare her? Is it worth a long wait if necessary?

You will get a lot of views on this one. People seem to either love SGE or hate it. I would need to know a little bit more about your son to say if he would be frightened or not. Much of this show is in in the dark with loud noise and bad smells. You will sit in a seat that has a shoulder harness that at one point will press down on your shoulders. You are the best judge if any of these things would frighten your DS or not.

As I said, there are people that love this show. My DH and I didn't and really wish we could have gotten a refund on our wasted time spent waiting and viewing this show.

We took our DD5 and DS4 on it. It does get dark and they didn't like that but we just talked them through it and they were fine. They were pretty indifferent after it was over. It wasn't all that great though. If there is a long wait, I would just skip it. But if there isn't, you might as well try it.

My 6 year old loved it in January....but it depends on your child's temperament and likes or dislikes.

It's intense especially if your child is prone to motion sickness.

It really depends on the child. My 6 year old won't go near it but my 4 year old loves it!

At six, my oldest DD would have loved Stitch, but my 6 yr old niece would be terrified. What else at WDW is similar to this attraction? The beginning of PoC freaked my niece out as well, and I don't think she would do Haunted Mansion either. She loves Goofy's Barnstormer though!

We have completely avoided this ride for our 3 girls, 4-9 yo. They love Big Thunder, Haunted House, and Splash Mountain, but I do not like what I've read about the Stitch ride.

Last month our 9 & 11 year old tough-as-nails neighbors told us they went on Stitch. They hated it and their 4 yo brother cried the entire day after being subjected to this new form of torture!

IMO: Missing it costs nothing. There is an unknown risk, however, in trying it out.

I don't recall "moving" either, so I do not know why a person would experience motion sickness.

I must say...I think you should skip this ride. My DD just turned 6 when we went on this ride, and she was FREAKING OUT! I think the fact that they do "harness you" into your seat, giving you a feeling of helplessness. Even I was getting nervous, wondering why I was strapped down. It turns out, they put the "harness" on you because the speakers are located in each harness thingy, so every person feels like Sticth is right behind/next to them.

The thing is...if it was "scary" for a reason, it would be worth it. But it is just weird and not all that entertaining and I really and truly would not ride on it again even if there was NO wait for it. JMHO!!!!

I wish they would put Stitch in a ride a little more kid friendly because he's one of her favorite- just behind Pluto! Oh, well. Hope they don't stick Pluto in a ride from ______. They should have left the original alien in so kids would know better.

LOL - i was thinking the same thing - It might be better if it did move. It was just OK - my DD is a big Stitch fan and she didn't really care for the attraction much.

My 6 yr. old was scared afterwards. I expected something totally different. If you went on Alien Invasion (what Stitch was before), it is exactly the same, just adapted to the Stitch character.

I would'nt wait for this ride, my kids( 2,4,9) love stitch and when this ride was over my 4 year old said is that it. It was very dark and we were expecting more to happen,they tried to make a scary ride into a kiddy ride,but you can't do that with a ride that is dark and you only see the character briefly. In my opinion that ride was very disappointing and we will not bother riding again.

What a waste! WDW has some lame attractions, but they are all sweet, traditional, and magically lame. Wouldn't miss them for the world. Stitch was AWFUL!!!! There was no story to really follow once you left the pre-show (which was the only sort of interesting part), and nothing happens anyway! As a family that never rode Alien, we were a little nervous going in and didn't know what to expect. The harness is the most uncomfortable thing in the world, they make the room pitch black for most of the show, kids are screaming because of the darkness and anticipation of something that never happens, and that's it. The dumbest thing I've ever wasted my time on. And those poor people standing in the stand-by line for HOURS for this... A boy about 8 next to us put it best..."That was the most boring dumb show ever."

Whew...I'm off my soap box now. My first WDW complaint!

It was gross and such a disappointment from Imagineers. My 11YO loves ToT, RnR, HM, SM, Space, etc and has for years but he almost threw up when he smelled that nasty burp on Stitch. I can still smell it four days later. It is no *fun*, no thrill, no creativity. If you are curoius (as we were) go alone the first time and switch-off with another adult if you want to try it first. We did this. I was lucky(?) enough to go first) while DH stayed with the unsure 5 YO. Neither of them went after hearing our report.

I did it the other day. They changed it. I heard lots of laughter and no screaming this time. I would say to try it.

If you want to try it, just warn your child ahead of time. Our 4 yo ds loves Stitch and really wanted to visit this attraction. He loved it. (Dh, of course, couldn't lose the smell of chili!! Yuck!)
