Has anyone ridden it at WDW yet???
EFFECTS SPOILER AHEAD!!!!
At the DL ride, there are some very cool changes. There is an awesome effect where a film of the Davy Jones character from the new move is projected onto a fog screen that you pass through. At first it looks like you are going to pass through a waterfall, but it is completly dry...very cool.
A Barbosa audio-animatronic is now the pirate captain on the large ship in the scene were they are firing on the fort.
There are three Jack Sparrow audio-animatronic figures located throughout the ride. In the scene where the man is being dunked in the fountain ("Carlos...Donne be Chee-kin!"), the pirates are now asking him where Jack Sparrow is. The figure is hiding close by. That figure looks EXACTLY like Johnny Depp, and has the most realistic eye movement I have ever seen on an audio-animatronic. The second time he appears is in the fish barrel, poking his head out. Also very realistic. The third figure was at the end, as you go up the ramp. He is seated in a chair, drunken-ish and singing Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho.
There are some other very cool little details that were added. They really enhance the ride without completely changing a classic.

Also, the waterfall with Davy Jones' face was a very cool effect. The best part was even though the line looked really long, it only took about 25 min. My niece (a DL CM) said on Monday, opening day, the wait was 5 hrs.! Now I'm a big Disney fan but I won't wait 5 hrs. for anything! I mean really, that's how long it takes to fly from So Cal to Fla. Also, I'm sure once the initial novelty wears off, the wait will drop back down to the normal 5 min. or so in the afternoon, that it's been for years. Hopefully, when we go in Sept. the wait at WDW will be short too! Can't wait to compare the two versions!
(Of course, I'm sure DL is still better
