I'm staying offsite and my hotel has a stop near it for the I Ride Trolley. I can't find any info anywhere to tell me if it goes to Universal/IOA and if it does, how long the ride is. :confused3

My hotel is the Comfort Inn Universal. (Yeah, I know, not the best...but this year it was *go cheap* or *don't go*. I chose the obvious! ;) ) The address is 6101 Sand Lake Road if that helps any.

Hope you guys can halp. I'm coming up empty handed on this one. :sad2:

sorry for buting in,but we are going to be staying off site to and would love the same Info:goodvibes

Here is the website--[http://www.iridetrolley.com/maps.asp

But it does not state it stops at Universal.

I know I read somewhere it did!!

I would call them maybe there website is not showing it!!/I]

Thanks. :) I absolutely hate calling people I don't know* so was hoping someone here had some experience with it.

*Maybe I shouldn't be the one doing the vacation planning! :rotfl2:

There showing it stops at SW and I know they go right pass US..
Last month when we were there we were on the esculator heading into CW and seen the Trolley..:confused3

Thanks. It's almost like they go out of their way to NOT list UO/IOA. :confused3

What is CW? (For the abbreviationally impaired :upsidedow )

OK...for anyone else wanting to know. I found this:

The 'Main Line' or 'Red Line' route will take you to the junction of Universal Blvd and International Drive North. From there, it is possible to walk to Universal Studios, but you're probably looking at a 1/2 mile walk - this is NOT recommended. Use other services available. Most Hotels offer a 'free shuttle' to Universal Studios and Sea World from this area. Best take advantage of it.

got it form here: http://www.orlando-internationaldrive.com/trolley/index.html

A little disappointing since I thought the kids would really enjoy the trolley (We live far from any public transportation...so it's a different experience for them) AND it would save on parking. :sad2: Oh well, now we know.

there are a lot of people that do that 1/2 mile walk.

a cab costs $5 from that area (where the I trolley stops) to take you to Universal.

The red line that goes to Major blvd off of universal blvd is not a bad walk from there.
the hotels on major is across the street to the park area.
it is about a 12 minute walk from that area.

i have done that walk before.
crossing universal blvd is the bite though.

We have stayed at the Doubletree on major blvd and as Macraven said the i-trolley does stop there and it is a 10 min walk to Universal and is not that bad cause I have a bad back and after a long walk I have to sit but when I did this walk I was ok.

Thanks! Do you think it's safe enough getting across universal blvd with 3 kids? (Is it at a light or is it just a *run and pray* situation?) Are there sidewalks between that last stop and universal? ( Sorry if that's a silly question. My first assumption is always that there are no sidewalks! Can you tell I live in the country?:lmao: )

OH! ONE MORE QUESTION!

How early/late do the trolleys run? We're a get there when they open and stay till they close kind of family. :upsidedow

ETA: Nevermind! Found it! :) "Daily from 8:00 a.m. - 10:30 p.m."

The major road you would have to cross is Kirkman and Universal and they do have lights and kirkman is busy and you have to move but I have done it both of my sons and the youngest being the one that wants to drag along but no problem and yes it has side walks all the way.
this also might help cause Ihave used it and it helpedalot and that is useing microsoft virtural earth or mapquest.

Crossing any major road down here is a trial and Universal Blvd is no exception. But...there are wide sidewalks everywhere in the tourist areas so don't worry about that. Just keep the kids close to you and don't venture out unless you have the walk sign in your direction.
