I remember why I don't shop at KMart!

I wanted to get DS a pair of sweats. Normal, cotton, black sweats in case it is too cold for shorts tomorrow morning (soccer game).
KMart was a hair closer than Target so I stopped there. Did they have sweats? Not the kind I wanted, but they had the huge, wind pant kind. They also had jeans with chains attached (in a size 6 yet--who would want a boy that young to look like a hoodlum?) They also had an ENTIRE RACK of bathrobes--for boys, with summer coming! What's up with that?
So I drove on to Target and got what I needed. Guess I'm not part of the shopping public KMart is targeting. Their stuff is way too urban for my kids.

I pass a kmart and a wal-mart every stinkin' day on my way to/from work.

however I drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction to go to Target when I need something.

I think both Wal-Mart and Target (the latter more-so) has pretty much ripped away Kmart's customers. Even I notice the parking lot is EMPTY at Kmart - but Wal-Mart is packed per-usual.

They have closed so many Kmarts in my area - they should just close them all...I can't see how they are even making money with Targets/Walmarts all over the place.

All the K-marts in this part of Texas have closed, and it is no wonder considering how cluttered and trashy they were. I guess K-mart thought that underwear dancer guy was going to save them . It would have taken a lot more than that.

KMart never has anything in stock they advertise in their flyers. I stopped going to the KMart in our area a few years ago. WalMart and Target (I buy different things at each) are much better. Our Target is newer and much cleaner. Its time WalMart does a face lift.

I agree with most if not all of these statements. The one by me is dirty, and they never really have anything i'm looking for. In addition, there is only one register open with some girl talking with her friends.

When I go to Target, the store is bright, there are plenty of registers, they have what they advertise and it's clean.

It's unfortunate, but i'd rather spend my money in a store that's clean. Period.

Our Kmart is closed and the lot is being used as a used car lot for people trying to get rid of their junk cars =) Seriously, there are about 40 of them lined up in a row =)

Didnt enjoy shopping there anyways. I'm a Target girl =)

Ditto, except I'd probably say it was filthy rather than dirty and cutomer service is nonexistant!! Oh, and they never have anything I can't get somewhere else for better quality.

I admit, I do go for a few Martha products....I like the bath accessories and they come in the right colors I've needed so far, but I get very little else there, and always feel like I need to wash my hands when I leave

I had quit going to KMART long before the ones here in town closed.

Nothing was priced, or never priced correctly. There were always too few registers opened with too many people and the employees were completely clueless about anything asked.

Wal-Mart is much better in town and Target is much cleaner than either.

Amen sister!!!! I abhor K-Mart. They NEVER have ANYTHING in stock and it is always filthy. I don't know why they even stay in business. There is only one within 50 miles of my house (about a mile from my house) as the rest of them have closed.

In college I worked at KMart in the ladies wear dept....

The stories I could tell of the things that happened in the ladies fitting rooms would curl your toes!!

Not to mention the clothing people would try to return - "Sure I'll gladly give you your money back on these 3 year old dirty underpants"

Gimme a WalMart, Target and a Costco and I'm set for life!

OMG our K-mart is till open but people are always parking their junk cars for sale aat the end of the lot facing the street. Must be a K-mart thing.
