I received the e-mail

I was sitting here reading about all of you who received the e-mail and I thought I'd check my husband's e-mail and there it was. I was so stunned as I've never received an e-mail with discounts before, I get post cards a couple times a year but what a treat this was! My concern is we are planning to go December 5-11 (this is not yet set in stone) and I am seeing that many of you are being told there is nothing available at POR during this time frame, does this seem to be the case? Thats got me wondering about the following week (Dec. 12-18) and the availability, we could always go that week. It's too late for me to call tonight and I am still on jury duty tomorrow so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to call (I'll be on pins and needles all day tomorrow)!

I just booked POR tonight for 12/11-12/16, two rooms, no problem. I was worried that the rates would already be taken, so was relieved.

I called and was able to reserve a room at POR for December 12-18. I first asked for December 5-11 and the cm said there were no discounted rooms left for that time. Luckily we were able to be flexible on our dates, but I am wondering if there is something going on during that time frame (the 5-11) I thought that was generally a fairly slow time? We are taking a chance on the driving conditions (and no big storms) since we are driving from Iowa, I'm a little nervous about that.
