For the past few years, we have been doing mainly ice cream cakes for the kids birthday parties. My baby girl's 1st birthday party is tomorrow and I went yesterday to get a Carvel ice cream cake and for a 9x13 one it was almost $30! I don't know if the prices went up or if I was oblivious in the past but I refused to get one and pay that price. Instead, I made my own for under $10!!!! I'm so proud of myself.

Coldstone's are my favorite because of the frosting/cake/ice cream ratio, but what's not to love about any ice cream cake??
(I even got proposed to with a Coldstone ice cream cake
)
I'm definitely not that great at making cakes. This was my first go at an ice cream cake--it came out okay. I'm happy with it and I know my fam will be too. That's all that matters. I made the Carvel crunchies for the middle--yummmmm!!
