I am looking at taking the family on the Wonder in March, 2004. I do have a couple of questions:

Is there parking somewhere nearby? We would most likely drive ourselves there and would require parking.

What is the best way to book a cruise? Should I book it through Disney or is there a better way?

What time can we board? What time is departure? (want to get in every minute I can!)

Where can I find info on shore excursions and the fees?

Thanks a bunch!

Spirit,

Think I can answer most of your questions.

Parking - you can park right at the port in a secure lot for $10 a day. A lot of people also stay the night before the cruise at the Radisson and they have a package that lets you park there and take thier shuttle over to the ship.

Booking the cruise. You can do it through a local travel agent, an internet agent or direct from DCL. My personal recommendation is Dreams Unlimited that sponsors this forum. I've used them for two land vacations and two cruises and they are very, very good.

Boarding is usually around 12 - 12:30. You sail at 5 pm.

As for shore excursions you can check out the DCL site or you can also look at the home page for the DIS. I think they have excursions listed there as well. Here are two more sites that are very helpful:

Dave's Disney Cruise Line Tribute Site

Barb & Tony's PLATINUM CASTAWAY CLUB

http://www.castawayclub.com/

http://www.dcltribute.com/

Try these sites for alot of info. Thats were I started a year ago. Keep coming to the boards daily and you will learn info thats invaluable.
They do have parking at the port, I am not sure of the cost. Maybe someone else can help with this. As far as booking go here http://dcl.reservations.disney.go.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/TravelCL get a quote for your date. Then shop around for what you want. Alot of disers, will swear by Dreams, hey they are the sponser of this site. I did'nt use this time, went directly threw Disney myself.
People start to line up early to board, around 10:30, actually boarding starts at 12:30ish.
Daves site above has alot info on shore excursions. Good Luck and happy planning!!!!!1
