I really need to ask for some prayers **UPDATE**

I need to ask you all to pray for my mom. She has been having problems with her right knee and can hardly walk. About 4 years ago she had surgery and had a disk removed and the pain in her bad leg went away. Well, now her good leg is bothering her and I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow (after waiting over 3 weeks for an appointment). One good thing is that she is not having the pain in her leg like she did a few weeks ago.

BUT, we are supposed to go away next Thursday for a long weekend - our first trip since Dad was diagnosed with cancer last September and we all need this trip (especially me and Mom).

If you could all spare some prayers that this is nothing major and can be fixed or healed, we would appreciate it.

Yes, you both need time to recoup and you will get it! Prayers that Mom gets a clean bill of health, a couple of pain killers and a killer of a vacation!

It depends on whats wrong, but a steriod shot might help , then she can go on this trip with the help of a wheelchair.

Had bad pain and trouble with left knee 2 years ago ( had surgery on same knee in the 80's) Got a steriod shot and it helped for a couple of weeks, then had to go back, I had torn cartilage and my knee cap was being pulled over to one side. They said one thing happened first, and because I kept walking on it, it caused the other( can't remember which was first)

Tell her to hang in there, it will be better.

Thank you all so much. I am hoping he will give her a cortisone (sp?) shot so that we can go away - she can walk but it is with difficulty. Then when we get back if something needs to be done ok.

We just don't really need one more thing on our plate right now. With everything with her and my dad, her cousin called from NC the other night to say that her husband (my "uncle") was admitted to the hospital and had emergency surgery for a burst appendix and had to have part of his bowel removed too. Our family just really needs a break - it has been non stop for over a year.

Well, we are back from the doctor and BOTH her knees are bad. She has NO cartilage between the joints in her knees. She has to have both of her knees replaced but only one at a time. He gave her some pain meds to take the edge off and we are going to go away next weekend and then when we come back she is going to sit on it for a week or so and then make the appointment. I know she feels a little skeptical because my dad is sick but she needs to take care of herself also. Right now, he is stable with his meds and feeling very good (Thank God). So, the doctor told her this is her window of opportunity to do this. She'll hopefully have it done within the next few weeks and then the other knee in the spring.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers. I thank you all so much.
