My family, 3 adults and 2 children (17 and 1) are going to Disney in March. Of course we have waited to late and the only thing available for the buy 4 get 3 free is Yacht Club which we can't afford.

We would really really love to add the dining plan but as of right now we are booked off sight at a nice hotel for $69 per night.

So I was thinking about possibly buying Annual Passes for the 4 of us and trying to get an AP rate at one of the Value or Moderate Resorts for our week. BUT........if we have AP's we still can't get the dining plan right?

We always tend to eat onsight and the dining plan has honestly saved us a bundle in the past but I can't think of any way to get it without booking full price.

Can anyone help?

You can get the dining plan as long as you get at least a 1 day ticket per person. Then you can use the one day tix to upgrade to your Annual Passes!:thumbsup2

As an AP Holder you can also purchase the Tables of Wonderland Card. It's $60, but entitles you to 20% on all meals at participating restaurants...which most participate.

As an AP holder, you don't need to buy the one-day ticket. That's only for free dining. If you're paying for it, you should be all set.

I second the TiW card, BTW. I got that, and it saved me a fortune (including on adult beverages).

If you're a AAA member, you might be able to get a room discount without getting an AP.

I am not sure which are your dates but march spring break is looking very booked on the site for AP and FL rates as well as the 4/7 deal. You should call ASAP and ask about AP rates. I believe the current code only covers sunday-thur nights though. You don't have to have one to book them and you only need one adult AP to get the rate. If you can find one great book it you will be able to add the dining plan and your total will be due because you are in your 45 day window.

Alternatively you could stay in your hotel you have booked and buy 1 annual pass and a table in wonderland card as has been mentioned. We have saved a lot of money with this and there is a ton of info on it and its use on the boards. Still it might not make sense if your are not going to spend more than @1000 on table service meals for the week or plan on going back in 12 months as you will be paying a couple hundred more for your annual pass.

I would also keep calling back - while they are beyond their 45 day window - room only reservations and still cancel. It definitely only costs you time to keep calling and having them check
