I really don't feel like doing a trip report!

Hey, has everyone noticed that only the guys are having to take bathroom breaks? Does that mean that the women have more self-control? :rotfl:

MF, I beat Mike more often than I usually do at MIB! He did beat me once because we he got the 100K bonus, and I didn't.

For those interested in the sign language shows, check your guides. Not all shows have interpreters for the hearing impaired.

Also, I can't believe I forgot to mention this, but Mike and I were very disappointed in a change since our last visit. At Finnegan's in May, we paid $4.75 for 2 pints of Miller Lite during Happy Hour. Now, it seems most of the bars have just taken a $1 off Bud Lite drafts for Happy Hour. So, now it's $3.75 per pint of Bud or Bud Lite only. Bud Lite is so bitter to me I can't even finish the pint. :( We usually left the parks for Happy Hour or skipped it all together. NBA City usually has some good HH specials.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :worship:

I'm so happy that you decided to do a short :rotfl: trip report. Your trip reports are always filled with fascinating stories and great ideas. Thanks again for taking the time to do it. :thumbsup2

Hi Jodie!

Loved your report! Way back when you commented on my TR that my husband and I sound a lot like you and yours...after reading your report I'd have to agree!

You make a great case for RPR...maybe Jason and I will change our plans for next May and move over there instead. :confused3

Thanks for sharing - it sounds like you guys had a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Hi Brenda! I am hesitant to encourage you to try RPR based on our review (and this is based on your review of PBH). We have stayed PBH Deluxe (before they even had club!), and I'm quite certain that you'll be disappointed in the RPR rooms (unless maybe you got a King Suite) after staying PBH Deluxe. Also, I probably would not stay RPR if we didn't stay club all the time, and it sounds like club isn't your thing for very good reasons on your part. Hey, club isn't for everyone; we get that! :) I would just be sooo disappointed if you switched and then wished you hadn't tried to fix what ain't broken!

We would like to try our next visit in March to do Mardi Gras again, but I think they are pricing themselves out of our comfort zone for spring break, so you may see us around in May instead. :) Since Mike doesn't have your and Jason's sophisticated palates, you wouldn't mind a 3rd wheel at Tchoup Chop, would you? I only get to go when we're with other people! Otherwise, you'll notice our high class eats this trip. :)

P.S. If I weren't digital camera illiterate, I'd have figured out how to post the 2 or 3 pics we took this trip by now. I'll have Mike upload them to our computer over the weekend. :)

Jodie, thanks for your honesty regarding RPR. I have a feeling that despite it all we'll stay at PBH again, just not club level! I do love that villa pool. :thumbsup2

If you and Mike go in May I hope we'll run across each other. We'll probably be there over Memorial Day weekend again and please, join us in our gluttony at Tchop Chop!

I wish I was eating there right now! :teeth:

QUOTE: "Just as we were unpacking, we had a knock on the door, and being wheeled in was a table with a HUGE gift basket from the Club Staff! They all wrote a lovely note to us and signed the card. I told Mike, “It’s good to be the Queen!” Mike shook his head and asked who in the heck I belly ached to over our last visit that would score us something this big, and did he have reason to be embarrassed over anything I may have said during said belly ache?"

We must be related!

--Others will beg to differ, but Mike and I are NOT fans of the Rickshaw folks. If you’ve read any of this, you know Mike and I eat and drink more than our fair share on vacation. The only way we justify this is by walking everywhere. We only take the boats once, after water ride day to prevent chafing. We don’t like 1. feeling like we’re in the Bahamas with a barrage of taxi drivers asking if we want a ride. 2. We actually enjoy the walk. It’s beautiful and romantic. 3. It takes away from the romance when 3-4 times a walk, you hear the friggin bell behind you, and you have to drop hands, and move single file so they can pass (9 out of 10 times empty as in not carrying passengers). I wish they had their own sidewalk or something.

I'm with you on this...especially at the HRH, it's only like a 5 minute walk?!?
Love your reports. Thanks!!!

Jodie - we're planning on heading back to USO / IOA over Memorial Day Weekend next year...if you want to join us at Tchoup Chop just let me know! :goodvibes

Thanks, Brenda! Now, we'll just have to see if we can get vacation time around Memorial Day. :)

FeeFee, tell me.... do you complain too? I prefer not to think of it as complaining. I mean, I didn't really complain; I just filled out the survey honestly. There's a difference, right? :teeth:

Snoopymom, thanks for backing me on the rickshaw thing... I am glad I'm not alone!

--We got stuck in a torrential down pour on Thursday, and of course we were stuck at the studios (I only say “stuck” because it’s the farther park from RPR, and of course the boat transportation was shut down because of thunder and lightening.). Mike and I thought we’d wait out the rain at Delancy Street, where you can preview new TV shows that the network is considering airing. It took about an hour. Mike and I would not have done it if all the rides were open and it weren’t pouring, but this was a great way to get out of the rain! We both hated the TV show we had to preview (it was a game show called 1 vs. 100, hosted by Bob Saget – IT WAS AWFUL!), but we liked the process, and we each got paid $15 to boot, or as we called it, “3 rounds of drinks.” I would encourage anyone who is stuck in the rain, or anyone who doesn’t like rides but goes to the park with a bunch of thrill junkies to try it. Some shows are half hour shows, some are hour-long shows, and you can type your comments in after you finish the preview. They give you a green button for your right hand, and you press the green button for as long as you like the show or any part of it. Conversely, they give you a red button for your left hand for when you don’t like the show. Mike and I joked that we had carpal tunnel from holding down the red button for so long. I pretty much held it down for any time Bob Saget opened his mouth.

Hey! I am not normally in the habit of quoting myself, but NBC actually aired "1 v. 100" with Bob Saget on Friday night, and I am curious if anyone watched it, and what your opinions were? Obviously, Mike and I were the only 2 that hated it! I watched the first 10 minutes of the show, and it was EXACTLY as it was previewed to us.

Thanks for this RPR Trip Report :teeth: . We are also staying at the RPR Club (in early November). Any advice/tips/hint on the parks or on RPR Club?

agnes!
