I question about OBB

we put deposits on 2 rooms for an upcoming cruise, we are thinking of going to panama in Aug 2016, My mother in law is thinking of joining us and we would have our daughter share a room with her, I know we need to have one person from the original reservation from when we made the place holder on the cruise, in the room would my daughter count?
Right now they have My husband and son in one room and my mother in law, daughter in I on the other, but couldn't I just leave my mother in law and her in the one room and move me back in to the other room with my husband and son?

There is no Panama Canal cruise in November 2016. Just May and August.

You have to have one adult (18+21+) stay the same in each room, or you lose the discount. Who was in each room when you booked it? It sounds like it was you and your daughter in one room and your husband and son in the other? If so, then both your husband and you have to stay to keep the discount, unless your daughter is an adult.

However, if you physically rearrange yourselves upon arrival, no one will mind a bit. We've done this multiple times, because we tend to book two rooms; one for us and one for the kids. The kids are fine in their own room (they're teenagers), but Disney won't let us book it that way. Once you get on the ship you can have the guest services desk make you an extra key to either room. You'll have to carry both your cruise ID and your extra key, but it's not that bad. And just because I know you're wondering, they can't just make your cruise ID open both rooms, and they can't make your cruise ID open the other room only, unless they actually move you to the other room in the system.

It's possible they can move people around at checkin or once you're on the ship without causing you to lose your discount; we've never tried. They certainly can't move people around so the adults are in one room and the children are in the other, or at least we were told that couldn't be done, even though they were fine with us having the adults sleep in one room and the kids sleeping in the other. Personally, I find that bizarre, but there's probably some reason having to do with having an adult legally responsible for each room.

grandma would be in there with her so that covers the over 18 , its over a year away still, but our agent said someone from the original room had to be in the room to use the discount, I was just wondering If my daughter counted since she was in our room on the last cruise when we made the place holder, and will be in the room with grandma,

There are two issues here:

1. an adult needs to be in the room just to be able to have a valid booking. Your mother-in-law covers that.
2. in order to avoid losing the OBB discount, one adult who was on the original booking must stay in each room. Your daughter does not count for this because she's not an adult. Your mother-in-law would, if she was listed on the original OBB booking.

All that said, you might ask once you're onboard if you can just move yourself to the first room without losing your discount. I don't know how much leeway they have to move people around without causing extra charges or cancellation fees, etc. It might be the computer would automatically cancel the discount and charge the 10% extra fare to your room account. Just make sure they understand what you're asking.

ok that makes sense, grandma was on the last cruise with us, we got off the ship on the 15th, at the time she didn't think she would do another cruise so she didn't bother, but she was home 2 days and changed her mind lol

Lesson learned: always go ahead and list grandma on the booking and don't tell her. If she doesn't change her mind, it's easier to quietly take her off than add her back on.
