I caught something on the flight to mco

Any advice for catching a cold before getting on ship?
Do they sell cough drops and cold medicine on the ship?

They will sell basic medication-- Tylenol, aspirin, tums, etc. But you might want to stop at. Walk in clinic ( central Fl has several minute clinics) to get a z pac; just in case it is something more serious. You can pick up some cold medicine too.

I already feel better
Hopefully already passing!

We were able to get a cold and flu type medicine in the gift shop. was quite reasonably priced actually. also bought Emergen-C

I don't know if you're on your ship already, but here's my $.02. I caught a nasty cold on the plane down to our cruise trip - we had 9 days at WDW before the cruise, so by the time we reached embarkation day the cold was mostly gone, save for a nasty-sounding cough (my colds tend to linger in the chest before disappearing). If you think you're contagious, maybe get some Purell or the like for when you're walking through common areas of the ship (remember, door handles are the most germ-filled surfaces of bathrooms!) and be wary of any scary sounding coughs or sneezes in common areas - my DH swears he saw some CMs giving us the suspicious eye during the lunch buffet on the first day after I coughed in Cabanas (although our cruise was during the Ebola-in-the-USA panic, so that might have been a special case).

I know they had some medications in the gift shops, but we stopped at a CVS before hitting port so I couldn't tell you about the costs. I personally recommend Robitussin DM if you're a chest cold-er like me, and Advil Cold & Sinus otherwise. Have fun!

I'd pick up something like Emergen-C or zinc lozenges that can help shorten the duration of a cold. Also, purchase some decongestant. If you don't have a car, then check to see if you can get these at the airport shops or take a cab to a drug store. I wouldn't bother going to a walk-in clinic or getting antibiotics. Most likely what you have is viral and antibiotic use would be pointless and possibly counter-productive as they kill off healthy bacteria in your digestive track.

Drinking pineapple juice can help with a cough so keep that in mind in case you develop a cough. You can get pineapple juice from room service.
