I'm thing about staying at POR ,do the mansion rooms only have king beds? And is this a great hotel??I hear everyone talk so highly of it,thanks in advance :goodvibes

We stayed at POR last year in the mansion section. Our room had double beds.

I absolutely love POR! It's such a beautiful, relaxing resort to come "home" to after a hectic day at the parks. I love the old-timey feel of the place, the ferry to Downtown Disney, the landscaping, the pathways, just everything! I don't think you'll be disappointed. :goodvibes

What are the rooms like?? Do they feel rustic, and do you have to request these rooms in advance? Sorry so many questions just don't want to make a mistake on where we stay and ruin you trip :teeth: Not that you can ruin a WDW trip :earboy2:

Well, the Alligator Bayou side of POR has more rustic-feeling rooms. I actually like that side better than the Magnolia Bend (mansion) side. Both sides have king size beds.

I was there in '03 in the AB section. We have a wooden bed frame. Made out of "logs" type bed frame. Our curtains had like a Mickey Davy Crocket type theme, he had a racoon skin hat on. It was a great resort. I liked it very much

POR was the first placed I stayed on site at Disney. It was the last week of August and the place seemed half full. I stayed in the mansion section, which I thought was very nice. I loved the scenery and the boat to DTD. I must have had a preferred location with a water view, although I didn't request it. My car was so close. There were always plenty of close parking spots. The bus transportation to MK was also very prompt. A quiet pool was right around the corner and no one was ever there (except on Labor Day W/E). Unless you are really picky, I can't imagine not liking this resort. After that trip to Disney I became hooked!
