We have the discounted room booked at Hojo's and we were looking forward to staying there but my MIL is joining us so we need a tiny bit more room. We have 3 adults and 3 kids so if we had two queens and a pull out it would be perfect. We want to be within walking distance but other than that we're not picky. Any ideas of hotels that might have a pull out or will we need a suite?

Thanks!

I realize that you want a place close to the front gates. However, I do want to throw a couple of other options out there for you. They are further down on S. Harbor in Garden Grove. You would need to drive into the parks (which isn't so bad since there are 6 of you) or take the ART.

- Anaheim Marriott Suites ($99 with BCAA discount)
- Hampton Inn & Suites Garden Grove (includes free hot breakfast ($101)

Both places have the 2 doubles/queens plus the sofa bed. Also, both places are close to a Target, where you can pick up bottled water and snacks. Also, next door to this Target is a great Dollar Store where you can pick up some great Disney souvenirs (mostly stationary items like Disney themed notebooks, pencil sets, etc.).

We decided to not stay at the Marriott Suites and stayed at the Hampton Inn this summer because of the free hot breakfast included. On weekends, they would have pizza/movie nights. There are cookies to welcome you each evening. Nice touches.

Take a look at Tripadvisor.com for reviews on those places. Have fun planning your trip!

Are the Entertainment rates still available for your dates? If so, have you looked into 2 connecting rooms at Hojo?

Or I would also suggest Desert Inn for what you have requested, 2Q and pull out sofa.

We have had good experiences in the mini-suites at the Best Western Park Place Inn (BWPPI). They have two queens and a roll-out queen that fits our family of six. Plus they are the closest hotel to DLR outside of the GCH. Nothing deluxe but clean and quiet.

You might want to just call up Lorealle at HoJo, and see if you can make your reservation into connecting rooms? Call the hotel directly and ask for her. She's so nice and helpful! That way, you could still get your Ent rate and probably come out still cheaper than getting a suite anywhere on Harbor-- and also getting a bit of privacy. 2 rooms at the $59 rate is still only $120, I'm pretty sure you can't get a one-bedroom suite for that. Mini suite, maybe.

You are a brave woman. I love my MIL, but I would go INSANE having her along on a family vacation, let alone having to share a room with her!

Good luck, let us know how it works out!

Avalon,

Is she really all that bad? ......... if so, YIKES! ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions!
As far as my MIL in not sure if I'm brave or stupid. She lives 12 hours away so the kids don't see her much, so I keep telling myself I'm doing it for my kids. I hope everything goes well, 4 years ago I kicked her out of our house at 3 am, but we've been on speaking terms for about a year now.

Eek!! If there is any question that it might be too much to handle, I would certainly check into two rooms rather than one suite. At least that way you would be able to have some separation and privacy - time to get away and all that. I know that's what I would do.

I love my family, but I needs my space :lmao:
