Sunsh1ne, I don't have anything catchy to offer but hopefully you'll figure out something soon. And if you can't, at the very least, please make sure your guests understand exactly what it is that you want.

I say this because I'm not sure what you want your guests to do. Do you want them to take their photo and then take it home with them? Do you want them to write down some advice and then take it home with them? What exactly are your guests supposed to take home that night?

My guess is that you want your guests to write down some words of advice and then step into the photobooth for pictures. And you want both of these items left at the reception because you will turn them into a memory book upon your return home from your honeymoon. Sadly, if a guest takes something home with them, it decreases your chances of retrieving it in the future.

I did a little surfing on the 'net this evening and found a few ideas along the lines of what you're thinking about doing. Perhaps these ideas will help you determine how you should handle the photobooth situation at your reception.

Guest's words of wisdom:
Set small photo albums, notecards and a disposable camera at each table. Create a sign asking each guest to write some words of wisdom on the notecards and put the card into the photo album. Make sure they take a photo of everyone at the table. After the wedding you can combine the notecard on the same page as the photograph and you’ll have a special keepsake of every guest at your wedding.

Wedding Photo Fun:
Rent an old-fashioned photo booth so that guests can ham it up and add their photographs to your guest book.

Instant Photo Guestbooks:
Instead of having an ordinary boring guestbook with signatures that we will never open again, we created a photo guest book. We had special guestbook attendants (2 of my teenage cousins) who took polaroids of each guest as they were entering the reception either individually or in a group. They immediately put the polaroid into the guestbook and the guests then signed below their picture. It was a great way to put names to faces (we had a very large wedding with lots of extended family and friends). We love looking back at it and reading all of the hilarious comments and words of wisdom. What would have been a untouched memorial of our wedding has become a treasured keepsake that we look back on every year on our anniversary!

Wedding Photography Tip:
Another excellent tip for having a photo keepsake of your wedding is to use several Instant Photo Guest Books, which combine Polaroid Instant Photos and hand-written sentiments from your guests. These photo guest books are ready to enjoy the “instant” your wedding is over - and creating them adds great fun to the wedding reception!
