Oh, and for those of you who are mad at me because I asked you nicely over and over again to please leave my room that's titled "Team Only Please or I'll Boot You", GET OVER IT. I spend virtually 90% of my VMK time with strangers, befriending kids and new guests. When I want a few minutes of time to build a new room, talk with friends, or privacy with my team, PLEASE RESPECT THAT.

And to the person who sent me a message saying they were going to delete me from their friends list because they got insulted: THANK YOU!

P.S. I have no idea if the people I'm referring to are DISers are not... but if this scenario sounds familiar...and if the shoe fits...

Although I agree with your vent, I would also like to apologize for both asking people to leave our room and/or booting them and then sending them a message. Even though my room clearly states "Please do not enter" -- and the description says team only, I understand how mistakes can happen and this information can sometimes slip by ones eye...

I hate booting and can't wait for us to allow all of you in again. I know some of you have really felt hurt this week, but please do not take it personally!

I agree 100%. I've only had to boot one person from my room, so far. I am building a ride room for the competition and would prefer not to be interrupted and expected to stop what I'm doing to be a good host. Also, I'd like my theme to remain secret, at least until the entries are completed. Not much point in a themed ride if there are 50 of them!

I've had this happen to me both during this ride building competition and through previous events that I wanted to be private. I think that people need to learn to respect the wishes of the room owner. No one is trying to be mean, but if a room is closed and clearly says so, don't expect to get in. I wish people would read more and listen to what things say. There would be a lot less of hurt feelings.

I wish VMK would give us a "do not disturb" option. Friends Only helps but there really should be a way to block a room off completely. VMK staff has that option and I really wish we did.

Jeez nobody has respect anymore, But just think the ride comp. will be over soon and you be on a disney cruise next month, don't have to deal with vmk kids for a week

Cape, it's a conspiracy! I was in my room earlier today with some team members and I too needed to just talk to my team. The room title was, "Please Don't Enter".

A girl came in and I said, okay, she can stay for a little while. Then the team talk started to get a bit more personal and we preferred that no one else heard our plans. I asked her very nicely to leave and I gave her an explaination. She refused to leave and kept asking why. I kept my cool and answered her every question...all 100 of them...lol.

After about 10 minutes (literally) she left. We continued team talk. But alas...she returns. This time, with more attitude (if that was at all possible). I asked her again nicely to leave and gave her another explaination. This time, the other team members helped me explain to her. We asked her several 100 times to please leave. I could not get myself to boot her...I just have a thing about booting people lol (I blame my weak heart! lol).

She started to get nasty with us and after another 10 minutes, I brought myself to boot her. I immediately sent a message appologizing and explaining why I did so. She replied to me saying she was going to report me...nice huh? I felt awful I had to boot her...but I didn't want to waste anymore time. I had to take her off my friend's list...

Then, my team so generosly says..."Let's talk in (name's) room." Then they leave. 20 minutes it took me to boot this girl and then they leave to a place where she couldn't enter anyway (due to limited access)...my genius team thought of this AFTER the fact I had to boot (something I am against) AND getting told I was being reported. lol...

I feel your pain. My room said Do Not Enter, my description said if you are not on my team I will boot, I am not talking or trading. That didn't stop my friends AND strangers from coming in. At first I felt bad about booting but then I got over it.

They either don't bother to read or just don't care.

I already had one original room copied almost exactly. The person that did it told me like I would be flattered. I got really upset. I don't want any more of it if I can help it.

We should be able to have a few minutes or hours of VMK to ourselves if we need it.

So lets all respect the privacy thing!

I have to say that I have had a couple of people come by and visit during room building frenzy. You are always welcome in one of my rooms, and I apologize if I don't say hi to you, I might have my "stuff" screen up and not see you, or I might just be afk and taking a break. Usually it is friends who come by and truthfully, I am glad of the diversion and the break from room building.

I have had a couple of people come in and not say anything. Yes, I know they are on another team. Are they stealing my room idea? Well, more power to them and I hope they figure out a better way to build it than I did. I usually end up tearing my room apart a few times before I'm finished with it. In anycase it is the overall ride, not just an individual room that will make this competition. So in truth, I just don't stress.

I am not doing this competition to add stress to my life in any way! Everyone manages and deals with stress differently, so what works for me might not work for someone else (hence the "keep out" signs). I do hope everyone comes back out to play soon -- it is sooo hard to get a pirates game going right now!!

Bingo! I want our theme to be a secret until after the registration is done.
I respected the privacy of you and the other friends (like CapeGirl) who
are not on my team and also need privacy to build.

I had to boot someone, (and ask another to leave), but I did tell them I
felt bad for doing so. Once the ride competition weekend starts, we'll
all be the social butterflies that we are.

I do beleive that staff has this so it is possible and necessary if they want a peacefull VMK and plan to continue with these type of events.

Another good option would be let us set up a build team list and the rooms would be available and operatable by any of the team.

With that said I am not one that enters many guest rooms and would never tresspass intentionally on such ominous warnings, however I would also never boot a true friend unless I was willing to give up the friendship, and frankly I really did not think I would do another ride for some of these and other reasons. However since everyone else is occupied this month with the contest and my credits were reaching the limits, we pulled together a small part of the Yeti Experience team to ride again. We enjoy pain and suffering and disapointment.

I will say in advance I am not planning on complaining about the contest since - in the end I should have know better from the start. That will be my new signature I think.

I probably have the same friend. This person sent me a nasty PM that I was mean and they would delete me. You know what I said? "Don't waste your time. you're delete off my list bye!' and I deleted them. They did me a favor. I really dont have time to deal with people that want to be nosey and peek at your rooms and ideas. This is a competition and we all have our secret plans and ideas.
