I am waiting for summer 2020 itinerary to open so I can book our second DCL cruise in August 2020 (our 20th anniversary is Aug 21st and I would like to be on the Fantasy that day). I've been browsing the DCL website to look at 2019 itinerary/pricing, deck plan, etc. and now I'm super close to book an Alaska or a Mexican riviera cruise under their Canadian special promos just for DH and I. I even checked how many AM it would take to fly to Vancouver or San Diego. The fact that I have enough to cover our flight is NOT helping!

Anyone has done the Mexican Riviera cruise? Did you like the ports? Just in case DH agrees to my crazy idea when he comes back from Japan on Sunday...

Alaska is amazing!! We are doing it for the second time this August - to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary which so happens to also be August 21st!!

Next month we are doing a 5 day Mexican Riviera out of San Diego; we love Mexico and have travelled several times over the past few years to both Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. No issues.

Good luck with whatever you decide, cruising DCL can be very addictive :rotfl::boat:

:offtopic: Our Anniversary is Aug 21 as well!!!! We celebrated 25 yrs this past summer. It must be a good day to get married ::yes::

I was just checking it out and WOWZA! Very expensive cruises!

I'll be sticking to my RCCL and NCL cruises, I guess LOL

I just did my first RCCL cruise after 2 DCL and I would book RCCL again in a heartbeat! I love both cruise lines but Royal was priced way better and I didn't miss Disney at all while on the Allure. The ship, the staff, and the entertainment... everything was amazing.

Planning on a Norwegian Fjord cruise for summer 2020. It’s about time for the itineraries to be out. Last year it was early March.

more trip daydreaming (i’m always daydreaming), but since it sounds like there are some experts here:

- if you had a small baby, what age would you think is right for a first cruise? we are all basically newbies (i’ve never cruised before, my wife went once as a teen with her family)
- for those who have sailed out of port canaveral and added disney world to your trip, what order do you prefer? disney then cruise or cruise then disney?
- just for fun: what is your favorite itinerary? what’s your ideal time frame, location, etc?

i love hearing about people’s best vacations so share your stories :)

i have days where i can’t stop dreaming up trips too!

my problem is that i let trips snowball. for example, if you’re going to travel down to san diego, why not do a quick stop in disneyland? :rotfl:

I know! I was hoping for a 5 nights instead of 7 from San Diego to fit a day or two at Disneyland!

Alaska was an awesome cruise! It's fun planning ;)

That would be my #1 choice but I'm not sure we could take the time off for the week of Sept 2nd since we will be on vacation July 27-August 17th this summer. Not sure our boss would be happy if we leave again 1 week after we come back to work...

A 5 day cruise would be perfect! And I agree that DCL is very addictive. We are so disappointed we have to cancel our March 2020 cruise because DD9 won't be able to take the week off from cheer. That's why I'm waiting for August 2020 to open!

True but so worth it for us! We tried NCL (Epic) in March 2017 and hated it. It was the same week that we had taken the year before with DCL and same itinerary but our experience was not the same at all! I have food allergies and NCL was really bad about it. That and the fact that I felt like we were in the middle of a frat party the whole time made us decide never to go back on that line. We are open for RCCL when our kids will be teenagers.

So funny that so many of us have the same anniversary date!

Good to know. After my bad experience with NCL I am not yet ready to try another line but we'll probably sail RCCL when the kids are older and no longer request DCL.

That cruise is in my bucket list!

I would say when the kid is potty trained so he can go in the pools and the kid clubs. I believe the minimum age is 1.

In 2016 we did WDW followed by DCL and we really liked that order.

Congratulations on the upcoming 20th! I have my 15th next year, and we just booked a second cruise (the almost annual 3 generation cruise) for the summer, aboard Symphony of the Seas. Alaska's on my bucket list as well, but not in the cards just yet.

I've sailed NCL Epic and NCL Escape. Neither felt like a frat party to me. We enjoyed the Escape more though (had our daughter with us for that cruise).

The only thing I hate about NCL is their lack of pools for that many passengers! If they could add more like Royal, we'd be happy.
