Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a little project I just finished for my DD (she is 4). A little background, I am a huge scrapbooker and love going to Disney. My dd loves to look through my books at previous trips with her friends, but the friends aren't so careful with them and I am nervous that they would get ruined.

On the news a little while back, they had a "techie" segment and it featured a site called www.blurb.com where you can download their software and create a book. There are a few different styles and colors. Each page you can customize the layout in so many different ways. You can also change the font and colors. When you are done with it, upload it to their site and you can order it either in a hardbound book or soft cover.

The book was about 49 pages and I ordered it hardbound. It is 8x10 size and it only cost $43.00 plus shipping. I also looked on other sites like Kodakgallery and the book would have cost me much more and you couldn't customize it as much. That was IMO a good deal compared to the hundreds I pay on scrapbook supplies.

You can take a peek at pages 1-15 on a preview page: http://www.blurb.com/images/uploads/catalog/87/30887/25045-62f5d9bde1cfa6e07286ae06e2086c4b.pdf

I am now in the process of making a family book for us for 2006, I will have it printed after Christmas to send to our IL's who live in MA. I think it would be nice since we used to be so close until we moved to FL. I know they miss out on the kids day to day life.

Adorable Lynn!! and your daughter is beautiful!
A friend of ours did an album from one of our car shows from Shutterfly. It is really cool in person. I was thinking of doing one for each of the kids. The boys love to tell stories and this would be a neat book for their pictures.

Thanks for sharing!!

That is really cool. I might try doing one of my battlefield pictures from Antietam. I should pass the link along to my brother who said he always wanted to make a book of nothing but pictures of his feet. :rotfl: Now he can! :rotfl2:

Very cool find! Thanks for posting it! :)

very nice lynn. you daughter is just so cute. she looks like she is having a blast in all the pics. she has a beautiful smile.
this really is a good idea. i'd like to make one for my inlaws, only because they would not appreciate a scrapbook, but would like the pics of my son. if i could make this and not spend all the time and energy on a hand made book, then why not, right?

thanks very much for sharing this with us!

Thanks!! It is super easy to make too and a whole lot less than a scrapbook. Don't get me wrong, I will never give up scrapping ! LOL If somehow the blurb book gets ripped, I won't cry like I would over my scrapbooks. Or want to throttle someone...LOL :rotfl2:
