Explain this like you are talking to a 5 year old :scared:

I just bought our tickets (about $79 w/taxes each way).
KC to Orlando one way - bought 4
Orlando to KC one way - bought 4

I have read that you aren't supposed to book roundtrip, but rather do it one-way. I hope that didn't mean book each ticket seperate...does that make sense? I booked 4 tickets one way from KC to Orlando...then 4 tix from Orlando back to KC.

Suppose a ding comes out...what do I do then? I need to have my game face on, so please help this momma out!

Hi neighbor! :)

I believe you did what the conventional wisdom here dictates, since you might only get a DING that works one way, so it will be easy to only do a portion of trip at a time. That being said, I usually get DINGS from KC to MCO and vice versa that work both ways the majority of the time so I only have experience changing everything at once.

It can all be done online, and SW is happy to talk you through it
1-800-I-FLY-SWA.

I cannot remember the specifics (last did it in August 2006) so I don't want to lead you astray. I seem to remember the first time I called them and they cancelled to enable me to book the ding at the same time, after having me check to be sure it was available for what times and number of people I needed.

Thanks again for the heads up on the low airfare on the other thread!

Regarding the ding...my best bet would be to call SWA if one happens to come out and have them walk me through it? Do ding fares go super fast?

Thanks again for the insight :)

SWA will not have Ding prices on their phone reservation system, only on line. The Ding fares do go fast, so you should be ready to change when they come out. If you can be flexible it helps also. I just booked 6 flights indvidually down and back. That is 12 reservations. If a Ding comes out for 2 or 3 I will be able to change those. If I did 6 at once I would have to keep all the reservations and not be able to change. It is a lot of work but I have been able to save a lot of money by doing it this way.

Good luck and keep reading the boards and you will catch on.

What airline are you using? We will nedd to fly out of KC when we go to WDW in December so I am just curious. I think $79 each way is a good price already. Thanks!
