I Need to Ask For a Favorite

I not one who ask for favorites but, everyone I've meet on this board as been so caring and thoughtful I though I would ask. I am in need for prayers. I live in Port St. Lucie, FL. We are expecting and preparing for a direct or near direct hit. My house is boarded up, my car is in the garage and our up coming Set. 19th cruise documents are in a waterproof container in the trunk along with our birth certificates.

Debbie....can I just ask.....from one "coastal resident" to another....why haven't you evacuated????

If you need a place to go....I know it will take you a while....get in your car and come here.....bring the kids, dogs, cats, whatever you have and come on................Just get on I-95. stay on 95 until you get to Exit 8 in South Carolina. Come onto the Island....the first fire station you get to is off Spanish Wells Road..there is a Shell station on the left...turn right...follow the signs to the station...go there...ask the boys how to get a hold of me......

I'm not being nosy....or critical...just concerned for your safety.

How generous and thoughtful of you.

The news is suggesting everyone not evacuate unless you are required to do so. We live about 15-20 miles inland. We are being told if you have a home to stay. The storm is so large and unpredictable that staying put is being recommended. There are so many people that are required to evacuate (people who live in trail parks, on the beach, and on the islands) that this is making the roadways almost impassable with traffic. Gas stations are sold out of gas. News is reporting 30-mile back on the FL turnpike at the Fort Drum service station because they are the only service station on the turnpike that has gas. Also, that people are stranded along the interstate 95 and turnpike because they‘ve ran out of gas. Hotels are full.

Tomorrow my son and I are going to stay at my mother’s home (3 miles away) her house has a new roof and it’s cbs (cement block).

Debbie, don't ever be concerned about asking for help on this board. The folks here are some of the most loving and giving on the net. Must be all that Pixie Dust. Actually I think that Disers are usually just plain GOOD folks.

We are all praying for your safety and that of all the folks in Florida and the Bahamas. We're also praying that Frances weakens so it doesn't cause as much damage as first predicted.

Please bless all the emergency workers as their jobs are just begining. In your most precious name we pray.

Debbie...I understand. Since we live on a barrier Island, when they say go...we have to go or they come around and ask for your next of kin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before my daughter was born, dh and I would just go with the firefighters..but can't do that anymore.

So, just be safe where ever you go..........I'm sure I'll be up all night tonight and tomorrow night...worrying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only for all the people in the storms path...but we have a home in ORL that I'd love to still be there in one piece after this!!!
